Front brake dragging?

Thanks Andy for the reply. Just noticed you are in San Diego too. I am pretty sure they are OEM. They are the 4 piston style. I have a set of BrakeBest remans I was going to put on based on some ones recommendation. The core charge was $25 I think. Putting in new seals and cleaning them up looked like a pretty involved job. What do you mean remove the line before the shot little metal one? I see the rubber hose goes into a fitting on the frame rail why shouldnt I remove it there. I am only replacing the rubber line. I was going to replace with stoptech braided lines or the NAPA rubber ones.

 

If you remove the fender liners, you'll see a hard brake line that comes down from above into a junction connection, then another short hard line that exits that junction and connects to the rubber hose at the junction you can see. By all means, have a go at disconnecting the brake line just behind the clip... when you can't get a wrench on it, you'll understand what I mean.

 

Yeah I saw that one was thinking I could maybe use my brake line wrench from the top after popping the hood. I was able to go through a couple different brakebest caliper boxes and found a matching set that were OEM cores that looked decent.

Ok put in the new front lines and calipers seems to work much better. I used a power bleeder and it was so worth it. This is the parts list I used. Cleaning up the old hub before seating the rotor was really important. The Toyota specific bleeder attachment I listed here was also super helpful and fit perfect. The chain universal attachment that comes with the power bleeder could crack the old flimsy master cylinder. The smotivepro system was really nice.

used Brakebest calipers from Oriley. Check the Brakebest calipers to make sure they are reman OEM ones. Check your current calipers to see if the labeling is the same. I had to swap a set out.
