I wasn't able to get the blackout package on my 23 Tacoma I'd like to add it but I'd like to buy the Toyota emblems it seems like the blackout ones are put over the top of the Chrome is that what everybody's doing or is there another option of removing it and totally replacing the emblems in referring to the tailgate inserts also

I know this is not much help because I don’t see them on their website now, but Empyre Offroad sold them at one time. However, I did find these on Etsy. I have no idea of the quality.

Edit to add: I Plastidipped mine because I didn’t want to lose the cutout inside the A’s. Easy to do and they still look good after more than a year.

Just do the covers brother. Pretty cheap and a seriously easy-peezy install (zero risk of fucking it up). My covers have been on for 4 years now and they still look great. You can always do a true replacement later if you want to.

^^This. I got the overlays on Amazon for under $20 including the V6 for the rear tailgate. Have had mine on for 18 months in the south Florida heat and multiple car washes, no problems and still look great. I'm a mechanical moron and I had them all on in about 10 min with no issues.

When I debadged my pro everything except the 4x4 and trd pro on the tailgate looked to Me like black overlays over chrome badges. I had overlays on my 22 corolla and it looked good. I wouldn't shy away from going that route if I were you

    Ironically,
This is one time that the knockoffs are actually better than the real deal.

I found these on EBay, they are really nice and are actually black emblems, and are not black covers.
I'll have to go back over where I got them.

Just like the OEM chrome ones they are solid.

Someone pried off the ones on my doors on a hot day. I replaced with eBay ones.

I have the Amazon overlays on my 4Runner. Factory on the Tacoma. Honestly can’t tell the difference wouldn’t over think it. It’s a great cosmetic mod!

I just replaced my overlays with new OEM black badges used on the nightshade package. Got the Tacoma, V6 and 4x4. Looks so much better than the overlays which were nice but too bulky. I have a gift card from my dealership.

Mine came with black overlays. I didn't like them. I debadged my doors and tailgate. IMO looks much better.

Factory lift kit. Lomax tri fold Tonneau.
Bought the Toyota overlays, 2 years on, no problems. Just make sure you use alcohol to clean surface before applying overlays for a good bond.

I plastidipped my old truck, but if the covers are only like $20 then I’d much rather do that. Anyone have a link to the covers?
