Kinda basic refrigeration really. It’s gotta be able operate in the region before you punt it out the factory door.

This is in my kitchen - no beer, just the occasional Snapple Peach Ice Tea.

I did have a beer in 2003 & one in 1987 - both "here, have a beer" courtesy beers, I guess you could say I don't drink much. :notsure:

I'd love to have seen 1987 Rusty having a once and very far in between cold beer just to be polite when visiting somebody's house.

Re-appliances- a tech I learned a ton from who's a grizzled old Shuttle era vet who moonlights as a commercial fisherman, handlining kingfish-truly a glutton for punishment way of making a living..
Anyways he told me this and I've probably shared it before because its burnt in my mind..
Buy the cheapest appliances you can stand to look at because they are all junk. And getting parts often times means paying half or more of what the item is even worth. Peak throw away society...

    Some
    We have....

Our original fridge we purchased after we got married (32 years ago).:anonymous: Aside from a water line kinkage (my bad)...we've had absolutely zero problems

I'm pretty sure our dishwasher came with the house (which we purchased in 1992):anonymous:....again, zero problems.

Bought a new washing machine a couple of years ago (and it sucks), the original washing machine was 20+ years old.:anonymous:

Same dryer for 20+ years:anonymous:....I've put 2 heating elements in it in the last 2 years, thats about it.
    :anonymous:

Our microwave (which came complete with an extra large popcorn button ) is..
I have no idea how old it is, I cant remember another one before it.:anonymous: Zero issues.

I told my wife that I'm not putting another heating element in the dryer so she went ahead and ordered a new element 'just in case'.

The 1987 beer was when cleaning up after a blizzard - I was out shoveling and a neighbor brought one out for me (and him) at 9 in the morning. o_O

He was a tall, lean, high strung guy who drove a BMW 318i -- and mentioned it all the time as in "I was driving the BMW and..." he had no other car.

He did everything fast - walk, talk, drive and man alive could he shovel some snow.

I hope by "hauled out" you don't mean scrapped. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

That looks like a nice straight solid project truck, International C Series.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Pretty much all the new appliances are not near as well built as the ones built years ago.

    Double like :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm all for saving the iron - obviously, look at the garage...

So much iron in one place a compass won't work nearby, planes can't fly over, hikers getting lost - causing a mini Bermuda Triangle in the northeast ... :anonymous:
