It’s a protein found in wheat barley and rye.
In the live plants it helps make the stalk stronger and more drought and insect resistant. And modern crops have been genetically modified to increase the amount of gluten for that reason.
In your foods it acts like the glue to hold everything together. Think of the guy at the pizzeria spinning the dough in the air. Take out the gluten and you’d have something the consistency of mashed potatoes flying around.

I’m beginning to think that the mooses hate me. Went moose hunting for two hours this morning and nothing.
so now I’m having some morning campfire time before I have to pack up and head home. Guess I can still hope that a moose will pop out and wander straight through my campsite

Their dog got up in the morning and found the nest. (ground nest) Next thing they knew, many stings. LOL. They were ok, smaller yellow jackets and the dog got the worse.

Poor dog! I wonder how long it will be before the dog digs another hole in the yard.

Wheat, barley and rye. My grandson has Celiac disease. He can't eat gluten, as it will eat away at his intestines in the long run and would give him terrible runs and stomach pains in the short term. Some don't eat gluten for personal reasons. He can't for health reasons.

Yeah, gluten gives the elasticity to most foods. GF food tends to be dry and crumbly, especially if it sits more than a day, like a gf pie or bread. There's little rise to the product. It's also damn expensive. This gf flour for pizza cost over $14 for about a 2 lb. bag.

So after lurking, laughing out loud at work and occasionally commenting for several months decided I probably should just officially join in. The picture is my wife and I on a dream trip to Lambeau to catch a pre-season Packer game last month. We're up in Kalispell, MT just outside "the park".

    1. What condiments do you prefer for your hot dogs? Think carefully! Horseradish Mustard. Onions, Kraut, BBQ sauce

Back in college I waited tables. I've tried pretty much every coffee with.... Also drank a bunch back then so.... @MTgirl good job on the sober months. One day at a time, one minute at a time. 28 years in November. I was the guy who would push your buttons until you were ready to swing and then walk away laughing. Yep a royal dick!

The only reason I’d allow it is the bbq sauce hides the mustard.
    I like it too..

I have to step back and look from 2 angles...the backyard grill and the trailer. I'd never offer it on the trailer but I have slathered them on the grill diluted with a little beer. And I do offer 'kraut, stoneground and horseradish on the trailer also.

You either get BBQ sauce or you don't. Personally, I am working on a BBQ soup recipe. Not all will understand, those that do I might share the recipe when finished.
