Will do I will be sending you some messages in the future most likely to see how you had stuff hooked up for wiring and all that jazz. But currently just going thru motor and tranny putting in some bolts on making sure everything else is golden and getting this thing thrown in there

I used the stock drive shaft and put a GM yolk for 4L60.

    Really good write up.

So... I'm in the idea stages of potentially making this happen on Hank. I was wondering if you could make a single post with links to all the resources so I don't have to bounce through 7 pages to find them all.

Also... in your process have you heard of someone doing the swap with a manual?! That would be the route I'd want to go. Didn't know if it would cause any additional problems.

Im not sure what you mean by resources?

Yes, theres an x runner around here with a T56. You can go with a TR6060 also.

You mentioned plenty of sites you used to help you along the way... and maybe links to a few of the needed parts.

I'm either going this route... or 1UZ. this looks like the more cost efficient solution.

It's for a gen 1 Taco but I can't imagine there being too much difference.

I can try to do that when I have some time. I used LT1swap.com pretty heavily though.

1st gen and 2nd gen tacos are very different and the swap will not be same. Id suggest watching Project Firebolt on YouTube to get an idea of what is involved. I believe the firewall needs to be moved but not positive. The engine bays on the 1st gens are definitely smaller.

1UZ is giant compared to an LS from a physical standpoint. Id imagine stuffing a 1UZ into a 1st gen taco will require quite a bit of fab work.

Hello! I am new to the forum but have been very interested in your ls swap. I’m currently swapping a 5.3 into a 2nd gen truck and appreciate all your hard work and willingness to share with everyone. I do have a specific question…where exactly did you connect your ls fuel pump wire? I have constant and “key on” power, but am having trouble finding the correct connection point for the fuel pump. My pump connector has 4 wires: orange, yellow/blk (these appear to be for the dash gauge), white/blk stripe is ground leaving black /red stripe. I connected to the black wire with red stripe just outside the fuse box under the hood, no power to the pump. I’ve tried using one of the blue wires coming off of the 20 amp, EFI fuse, and again, no luck. Where did you attach your wire at, thank you in advance.

This is what I did for my fuel pump. Its on page two of this thread under PCM and Wiring.

Fuel Pump Relay Control - Dark Green/White - PIN # 9 - This wire will be coming from your fuse box. Once the PCM triggers the relay it will supply the 12v needed to turn your fuel pump on. I connected this wire to my sending unit. By using the stock sending unit I got my fuel gauge to work on my dash

I just spliced into the 12v wire to my sending unit. I cannot remember right now what the color combination was for the wire but I was able to splice into it under the drivers door sill.

    Hope this helps!

I never used the GM radiator. I used the stock Toyota radiator at first and later upgraded to a 3 row aluminum radiator.

I’m also running the stock Tacoma radiator. No issues so far.

How did you route the hoses? If you bought some which ones?
