I had a new walker. Fit fine. But leaked at the shield & started whistling.

Then I got an AP. It rattled, so back it went.

Got a magnaflow hm. When I tried to install, it didn’t line up quite right at the manifold flange. Studs are fine. I checked & my original fits & the Wagner was fine. Also, the magnaflow was about 2in shorter than my stock. It is listed at 18in. The Wagner at 20in.

Meanwhilst I find out I’m 49 state compliant, so I get the magnaflow OEM direct fit one thinking the 1st was defective as far as the bolt holes went.
    Nope. Same thing.

The models I bought are the ones that come up when I put in my VIN & the stock #’s cross reference check out.

I’m trying to avoid paying 1,000+ since I don’t need a full blown cal compliant one. & not many manufacturers seem to offer the 49 state compliant ones.

2001, 3.4 4x4 SR5. I find I’m often non-existent in that very rarely do I see the SR5 listed as an option. Base is usually what I have to pick. Not sure if that’s relevant.

Also, it’s not like my local parts places keep these on the shelves. Otherwise I could go compare.

I didn’t see anything on here about this. Worth a shot though to ask if anyone’s run into this?

No code. Mine’s funky & doesn’t throw codes consistently. I was leaking all over the two bolt front cc flange. I had patched it so many times. Anyway, when I went for a redo, both cats were rattling.

Just trying to find a replacement that’ll fit & doesn’t break the bank too much….

    Damn
I was going to tell you about the P0420 Q-fix that I have done successfully on a Honda/Subaru/Chevy ($8 spark plug antifowler)

    well
I would say go to a muffler shop with the 20inch one that does not bolt on
    It’s just pipe/one flange

Seriously, especially if you bat your eyelashes , you might get out for less than $75.
Can’t be fur sure bc of Taxachussets thou!

Just curious why not another Walker??

Any more parts quality across all manufactures has degraded .

So many parts shipped mislabeled or boxed wrong.

Was the flange welded on the Cat Wrong? Was it just the wrong flange?

What was wrong it did not fit?

Not too sure re fitment, though if you take it somewhere I recently used one of the Lou's Custom shops and was very happy. Enough to switch to them versus someone I used for 25 years for exhaust.

Kinda left a bad taste after I installed the 1st walker, only to have it leak. & yes, I could do another seeing's how at least that one fit. Well, after I ground down the end pipes. Now I know why I had to do that. The cal ones have shorter pipes. Anyway, the options for walker are the fed one or the cal compliant. No in between. So I'm looking at 1050.00 from NAPA with the 20% disc they're offering. The magnaflo has a mid version. If you're cal, yet don't live in cal. That's 600.00 with the disc.

I'm not sure on the flange. I put the original cc flange facing the magnaflo flange. Got three flange head bolts. I could get two bolts straight (flange head flat), but the third one would go cockeyed. Didn't matter which two I did, the third was off kilter. I think that each bolt hole is set 1-2mm too far back.

So yes. I did not fit.

I'm not up on it but I wonder if having it welded might be the move..
