Yeah, start with new shocks. 75k is a long time for factory shocks.

If that doesn't do it, go from there.

Best bang for the buck. Downsouth Motorsports will give you the hook-up if you tell 'em you're a member here on TW.

Update: I haven't put the 5100's on the rear yet but after talking to DSM they told me they really didn't have anything to offer me that wouldn't give me more than 2" of rear lift. They then refered me to Wheelers Off Road. I made a call to them today and they told me that they are having a lot of guys in the same situation that I am in, looking for strong rear leafs that aren't going to give me more than 2" of lift. I told them all I needed was a leaf pack that was going to be durable enought to handle the towing that I do even if it makes the ride a little rough. All the current leaf packs they off are about as strong as what I currently have and they cannot gaurantee that I wont be in the same situation after about a year. The leaf packs offered by Dakar are probably just as stiff as mine and are geared towards a better ride/lift than strenght. They told me they are in the process of developing a 6 leaf pack for the second gens. They already have this for the 1st gens, and are working on development for second gens. This new leaf pack is supposed to be the solution to my problems as the current options will most likely lose strenght as my current setup has. They said they are about 6 months out and are made by Alcan and are going to put me on the notification list when available. Since I dont want to do this twice I'm probably going to wait for these to come out. I'm just a little dissapointed that currently I dont have any other options other than air-bags. Thanks everyone for your insight, I will let you know how the 5100's work.

Now I'm really curious to see how this works out. Those upcoming leafs sound very promising! Make sure you update this (if you remember 6 months from now). Good luck!

DOnt know if north west off road specialties has anything for 2nd gens but they supposedly sell some great leafs for carrying capability and shouldn't lift you too high.

Question: I just went to Wheelers Off Road's website and was looking at there products. I saw an 8 leaf pack. Wouldn't you think 8 leafs would be stronger than the 3 leaf pack I currently have? They also stated that since the overload leaf was removed decreasing the grosss weight rating??? I'm confused how could 8 leafs carry less weight than the factory 3 leaf pack.

Easy, no overload leaf means less capacity when loaded heavy (overloaded). Many thinner leaves gives more gradual spring pressure and flex and more articualtion. Stacked leaves are essentially progressive in nature and the more you bend them the more leaves become involved, with ever more resistance. If you have a light load you only involve a couple light and thin leaves. With no overload leaves you lose the ability to overload the truck.

A Dakar would certainly give you what you need. Im not getting one because of the increase in ride firmness, which I dont want since I don't tow. Ive never seen someone say their Dakars were too weak or produced a mushy ride.

From what I have heard from Wheelers Off Road they told me that the Dakar would work great four about a year but they cannot gaurantee w/ the weight that I tow that it wouldn't eventually become weak.
