You don’t “need” it, but I used it to make sure the lights were absolutely dry.

    None... yet
I replaced my u-joints and carrier bearing over the weekend. Those u-joints were hard getting out. I had to pound on them hard with a 3lb sledge.
They have all been replaced with the Spicer u-joints that have the grease fitting on the end of the cap. Very easy to get to.
Drove to work today and no vibrations. Got it up to 80 on the freeway and it felt smooth.
I had a slight vibration before that was getting worse and a rythmic squeak that was really loud when I was taking off from a stop. Now they are all gone.

Tried out a ‘back to black’ plastic restorer called Solution Finish. Either found it here or an Instagram ad got me… either way it worked really well. Unlike a lot of plastic restorer this one is dyed black so it really makes the plastic pop with black.

here’s my front bumper plastic. Normally it’s like a dark gray but with this stuff it turned it more black in color, which I actually think looks better:

I’m referring to the bottom middle plastic part of the bumper.

So I didn’t have any bad gas today or spd but I did install some brass grommets to drain water back out more efficiently

After going a week of trouble free driving since replacing the front brakes, I noticed I’m leaking power steering fluid now!

Thankfully I caught it before the reservoir was completely empty, it’s not leaking at an alarming rate yet, and it looks to only be coming from one of the hard lines and not the pump or rack itself!

Fluid pooling on the skid plate and the hard line is wet with it and looks like it’s seen better days.

Pulled the trans and cases out again this past weekend to take care of another leak. This time it was the output shaft seal. The original one was driven in too far from the factory, so a replacement was in order. Checked the fluid again today after driving it a couple hundred miles and it’s still flowing out the fill plug so that took care of it. This is a 3rd gen Tacoma 5 spd for reference

After wrapping that up, I cleaned up my pops’ headlights with a Cerakote restoration kit. They were pretty terrible before so I was surprised with how good they turned out!
