Isn't it a whole industry now. Buy in bulk off of aliexpress and resell on Amazon or eBay? As a consumer, I can choose to either pay $5 from China and wait 3 weeks or pay $5.50 and get it in 3-5 days from some US dude trying to eek out a living.

I don't see why this business model is a problem. The extra $0.50 is compensating that guy for getting my stuff quicker and assuming the risk of carrying some stock.

Tacoma Beast defaced public lands so I don't like him, but this line of business itself is legit.

In OP's defense, he's at 120 posts and might not spend much time reading without posting, very possible he didn't know about that piece ofit

Its actually incredible how easily someone can start a small business and become a vendor of products, having the supplier just dropship the product directly to the customer. Its wayyyyyyy easier than I thought it was..

I know what you're saying. Most of us don't go evaluate the character of the business owners for every purchase we make. Most of us also don't try to price check using Ali Express. We understand (to an extent) the way the world works, and we choose personal convenience, at an inflated cost, in most of our purchases.

True, I myself try to at least learn a little bit about that stuff and there are certain people/businesses I won't support.

What I am getting at is it's not out of the question OP wasn't aware of the reputation even if they're a long time person here. I've gotten surprises like that before in life, but once aware I chose not to deal with the entity.

Looking back, OP joined here this February so it wasn't really front page news here like it was for a while. I'm willing to give benefit of doubt re Tacomabeast's reputation.

There’s no room for being reasonable in this lynch mob!

I am not most people. Not that I'm interested in personal character, but I am overly cautious about sharing my financials with any flashy website that shows up in the sponsored search results.

I have run across things I wanted from other drop-shippers. I do a quick google to find out who they are and whether that product is available elsewhere. Half the time the crap I find at a drop-shipper I can find direct from the manufacturer. The other half is because its made in China and can be found under 20 different brand names. And not that there is anything wrong with using a drop shipper, but I personally would rather put my money directly towards the shop that made the thing. That way I have a solid line of support for when that thing needs troubleshooting.

This is 90% of vendors on Amazon. They basically create a vendor account on Amazon and link to AliExpress which fills the Amazon warehouse and they sell at a markup. Common tactic is to stock the "trending" items and make a quick buck.

I agree, I'd give OP the benefit of the doubt concerning "should've known TB's character." I think thats a dumb argument as well. Whats not dumb is knowing how the world works, and getting mad at the business for trying to make a dollar seems pretty stupid.
I know what you mean, I'm the same way to an extent. However, when it comes to megastores like Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, etc, if they got what I want, I'm getting it. May not agree with your stance on some wild political statement, but if I need a few sticks of lumber, I'm gonna go to Home Depot/Lowes like the rest of the average Joe's who don't own their own sawmill. Sure some no name cousin of a sister's in law's step-son has 2x4's for cheaper, but he's a hell of a lot less convenient to get a few pieces from on a sunday afternoon when I randomly decide to start a project.

Yup. So what . Sue me. Isn’t this a free world? You’re maybe one of those who’s too narrow minded and bash people who are not aligned with their beliefs .

As I said people make mistakes. Maybe except some people here who's self righteous. I just give that the benefit of the doubt regarding his being remorseful if what he did. Imagine the headaches he went thru following that incident. The legal ramifications that followed. What do guys want to do. Condemn him for all eternity ? Wow . I guess that's your thing then let it be . For me, you already know .
All these aside, his business model is legit. If you can't afford it then go somewhere else

Don't forget 25%-28% duty on goods coming from China. I doubt Aliexpress is eating that and a nice surprise bill 2 weeks after you waited a month for the cap that shows up damaged.

    $1,800+ $450 duty + $800 = $3,050

I’ve never paid duty on any thing from China nor has anything ever been damaged. The longest I’ve also waited is two weeks in shipping.

A couple of friends just received elockers from China $330 a piece which is basically the latest Eaton, no duty, no issues, and only a couple weeks.

That's good to know its included in the "shipping". We import industrial machinery and spare parts from China and Europe and have to pay duty on our end. China is much less competitive with European goods with the current duty rates we pay.
