This is what has been eating up my weeks, a decent amount of fuel or oxidizer transfer operations. Typically with fuel, if there is liquid or significant vapor exposure to the wearer of the suit, a 5 minute shower is required.

We also pressurize, deploy, service that bottle of air bottom left up to 4700psi for ingress/egress use only.

Funny you should say that... nothing has been impossible for me for a long time. It might not be world class, but, in my mind, there is nothing I cannot do!

I played water polo growing up. Won a lot of trophies/awards in high school. I was top 2 players on the team. The only guy that was better than me was a lefty. The goalies had no idea what to do with him, when he shot the ball lol.

I liked the GMC branded trucks of that era, they had an incredibly overbuilt V6 engine exclusive to GMC.
It truly was a heavy duty engine, used in both pickups and all the way up to medium duty models and busses.

Several displacements were offered in this family up to the massive 702 cubic inch "twin six" V12!

    1960-gmc-v6-engine-family-720x340.jpg

Advertising of the day often focused on technical specifications like larger brakes, stronger electrical system, tighter turning radius, etc -- instead of how big a :censored: touch screen is mounted in the dashboard...

    1962-GMC-V6-Water-Ad.jpg

This narrow 60 degree design had the spark plugs on the intake manifold side - therefore allowing shorter and more reliable spark plug wires (there is that advertising thing again ;) ), the camshaft and lifters are actually submerged in oil to eliminate dry starts and the head was flat with the combustion chamber in the piston crown.

The smallest V6, the 305, weighs in around a staggering 800 pounds, compare to a Chev 305 V8 at around 650. Notice the strong deep skirt block that extends well below the crankshaft center line. Other makers V8s like Chrysler B series, Ford FE series and International Harvester used a similar heavy deep skirt design.

Morning all, beautiful rainy start to the day here. Had to play medic this morning, wife burned her thumb pretty good on the coffee pot. As her contribution to the situation my daughter (7) said, "life can be full of disappointment at times" Haha

I dissected one of my son's calipers to see if / why it was seized. I don't see anything... :notsure:

We had recently cleaned and lubed the sliders, but it was still tight. :notsure:

Park brake cable is fine too.

    What should I look for?

How does the piston look? Smooth, no scoring or pitting? How about the bore where the piston fits into? Any debris in the brake fluid passageways? Is the rubber boot swollen, dirty, torn?

Edit: I do not see the brake hose? Are they new? Condition? Sometimes the hoses will collapse if they get old and worn.

Is this for a Tacoma? I only ask because the parking brake cable actuates the rear drum and shouldn't affect the front disks. I would agree with @ACEkraut and check the piston, piston dust boots, and seals for condition. Heck, since you have it taken apart you might as well just rebuild it with new seals and boots. Do you have access to an ultrasonic parts cleaner? You could clean it in a solution of Simple Green and water or a degreaser of your choice. Pull all the rubber off of it before you run it in the solution as it could degrade the seals. If the sidewall of the piston looks clean and uniform and free of gouges and streaks, I would check the brake lines and hoses for condition. What's the age of the vehicle?

This is good advise right here.

Pistons and cylinders look good, I took both apart to compare, since one was stickier than the other, I was hoping to see some difference. Boots, seals, etc look good to me, I don't know about debris in the fluid, I just dumped it out.

Hoses seemed fine too, if it's them we'll know, because they're still on.

I found a package on Amazon for both calipers, rotors, and pads for $190 (with no core charge), so I figured it was worth just swapping out everything.

It's the rears off a 2013 Veloster turbo.

I do have an ultrasonic cleaner, and I thought about cleaning it up and reassembling it just for kicks. It'll probably never get used.

For that price I would agree. You could be chasing the "problem" for awhile with no clear results. My money is on the hoses. And if you are replacing the calipers anyway I would replace the hoses as a matter of maintenance and peace of mind.
