In pool news, I had to throw in the towel. The threaded unions are so tight I can’t break then loose by hand, hard to get a full grip on them due to their location. I tried using the biggest slip joint pliers I had and they aren’t wide enough for a full grip. I did manage to bump it enough it’s leaking more than before and I had to turn the pump off :annoyed: I called the pool place and told them to send a maintenance guy, at least if he breaks the pvc piping he will have everything to fix it.

I'll recommend doing a complete fluid change. Brake fluid absorbs moisture which can cause metal parts inside to rust and not work as well as they should.

I'll agree with this, I've seen low quality fluid cause lock ups as well. Especially if near heat

    :(:(

A few of these are handy to have around, they come in sizes from kitchen jar lid to industrial, lighter ones have a rubber strap moving to a seat belt like material and at the top of the aggressive range a chain.

This will remove it - or break it trying.

Welcome back! I'm glad you're still walking among the tombstones, instead of sniffing the roots under them! The new place looks awesome!:infantry: We've needed a new poll for some time. The self described engineers amongst us have been getting desperate...:anonymous:

    Master cylinder update

The service manager assistant did call me back after talking to the manager himself. I have been told to contact the dealership closer to me who did the free factory oil changes because they have service history on the truck. The dealership where I bought the truck won’t be able to help me. The saga continues…

I have, McGeorge was a little cheaper

My buddy gave me this Tonka a few months ago, it was all original and nice. Yawl know I can't leave stuff the way it is so I started hacking a little at a time....

    IMG_7032.jpg

Chopped the top and shortened the bed and frame.

    IMG_7134.jpg

    Added a blower.

    IMG_7248.jpg

Decided to make a drag truck out of it so the bed got tubbed and some slicks were added.

    IMG_7391.jpg
    IMG_7393.jpg

Then he gave me this Wyandotte cab so I made a wedge bed for it.

That looks like a handy tool I’ll get one of those for next time.

Breaking it is what I’m concerned with lol. Out of the chlorinator the pipe goes into a T fitting which goes into 2 ball valves and then underground to the pool. All of it plumbed with 20 year old, sun baked, heat soaked 1 1/2” pvc.

Remember what grandpa always said "if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem"

That's bullshit. Translation: "Um, yeah, it is out of warranty and we don't want to be the bad guy to tell you that we won't help you. So go to the dealership where you have been getting it serviced so that they can be the one to tell you that you are up shit creek without a paddle." All the service information is tied to the VIN number, which should be able to be accessed by any dealer, regardless of where the vehicle was serviced.

Yep, that’s the way I read it too. I have to go to Pensacola Thursday anyway so I’ll swing by the dealership and go through the motions just in case Toyota Corporate reads the email I will send when I have to replace it myself.

I think I’ve tracked down the part number for just the master cylinder without the hydro solenoid and reservoir too. That part should be fine to swap over as my issue is obviously the seals. I’ll try and verify that part number while at the dealership while I’m getting the runaround.
