PVC under pressure creeps me out.

One of the downtown properties had PVC/CPVC pipes, when I went to remove them they just cracked & shattered.
This had about 100 psi city water on it, imagine someone trying to stuff something in the cabinet under the kitchen sink and giving it a good shove.:eek::eek:

Our new house has 90 PSI at the pressure tank, I'm used to 30. Think I should turn it down a little?

GL digging back through the hundreds of pages you missed. Be weary of that 'Go to first unread' button. Might as well just hit the Left arrow above 'Multi-quote' link and get caught up. Smoke a pork butt and get to work.

Well if they’re going to put them out for free… :D

Yikes! That’s serious pressure. I’m just dealing with 20-25 psi on this system but the age has me concerned.

Yeah I don't like it being that high. There is a pressure tank under the house and also one in the shop bathroom, both on 90 psi

On a positive note, it doesn't take long to get the air out of the water hose

    Wow!

I have never seen 90 psi on a residential well. Usual pressure cut in/cut out pressures are 20/40, 30/50, 40/60.

Personally I would replace the pressure switch with a new 30/50, Square D brand if available, and reset the tank pre-charge to the proper 28 psi.
Probably not bad idea to replace the gauge too, they fail sometimes.

The "pump saver" pressure switches only cost a little more than the standard ones. If the the well ever runs low the switch will open cutting off the pump as soon as it hits air and not restart until you manually hold down the lever - after you have waited for the well to fill back up. ;)

Best to buy this at a plumbing supply house rather than AMZ IMO.
