Great looking product. Sign me up!

Good luck with your company. Looks clean and it seems that you guys covered all the right things: durability, functionality, color choices, and design. You sold me with the pic of the tire over your product.

Very cool product but I could do the same thing and not have to worry about batteries running out for about $8 at radio shack.

All you would need is LED flush mounts (1.50 for 6 at Radio Shack), LEDs of your choice, some wire, and a drill to install them into the bottom flange of the radio and then just tap into the climate control circuit like we do to illuminate the 4x4 switches.

Plus it looks way better to install the lights into the cup holders and in the foot wells which puts the light where you need it instead of flooding the truck with light. (total cost is ~15 with wide angle ebay 12v prewired LEDs for footwells, cupholders, center console, and glove box)

Darren kept telling me how strong the plastic case was and I told him to run a demo unit over with his truck, kind of joking about it, but he did it and said "holy $%^! it still works". Then he decided to turn the unit on and park the truck on top of it, definitely flexed under the weight but it still worked...

Yes, you and anyone else can simply drill holes into your truck and accomplish a similar effect. However, I personally didn't love the idea of drilling holes and wiring my truck. It takes less than 10 seconds for our product to be installed. How long did it take you to wire your truck? Just asking out of curiosity - not hostility. I suppose, I was also a bit fearful of wrecking the OEM harness.

First of all my project was WAY more extensive then just shooting light down from the radio, but since you asked:

To prewire everything with wire strippers and a soldering gun for a combined ~15 LEDs took an hour after some initial planning for lead lengths. This took way longer than expected due to the fact that during this project I taught my girlfriend how to solder. In reality its like a 30 min job. Install was maybe another hour all told and consisted of choosing a power and ground, routing the wires, and zip-tying everything in place. So all told it took maybe 1.5 hours.

All told mimicking this product yourself could be done in about 15 minutes from unlocking the truck to locking it again since you would be removing the HVAC controls to drill the holes which would give you access to the two wires you need to tap to get power, and access to the area where you would be running wires.

If someone has a donor truck I could make a video.

    EDIT:

Please read my build thread and post any questions before PMing me. I have been flooded lately.

Nice job flight, but the key to me is you have the know how to do this and ,from what I saw, the other extensive projects on your truck. Not everyone has the ability or the guts to tear apart, drill holes, tap into wiring, buy the right parts etc, to their relatively brand new truck...LOL

Hence the unit we designed, which is obviously not for everyone...

great product, but for $70 (+tax/+s&h) i hope you can add several more LED's before i even think about spending that much money for 2 LED bulbs in a housing.

    Pretty much stock
You need to offer black as an option, not special order....you see base (non sr5/trd) trucks do not have the silver dash, they have black stereo's/ac controls so the silver would look out of place for someone trying to achieve the oem look.

 I'm waiting for the group buy too.

Just can't decide, green halo's to differentiate the lights, or amber halo's to blend it in. We'll see what the GB offers.

Amber LED's to provide the light all the way though.

I think this is a product for ricers and tuners, not really for 4x4 's.

Um, not really. Some people do wheel their truck, and still enjoy the toy's too. I'm going to be doing LED underlighting (for rock/night wheeling spotting not driving down the road ricer style), underhood LED lighting for night work, bed LED's, and I might run amber LED's for a dirt run light instead of an actual housing. Interior night accenting would be nice in certain places instead of kicking the main's on and blind me at night. So, yea it's a very solid product idea that's standard on a lot of vehicles these days tbh.
