If I didn't need the trailer for my kayak and for easy loading/unloading, I would definitely look at one of these to haul the bike. I assume you just put the bike in neutral to allow it to pivot up and down on the rear axle?

Quad lock is great imo. I ran it with an isolator for years but recently removed the isolator because I kept destroying it when I went over the bars. Without an isolator + a tether on the case makes a bomb proof solution even when you crash as much as me.

If you don't crash a lot running the isolator is fine.

Oh yeah, not knocking the set up you have at all. Just the first time ever hearing about one, then kiddo and her bf using a similar set up, and them having issues with it.

As for the bike in question… it is a project bike. The faring on the right side was already missing. I was laughing at it. The left side had all plastics, right side was completely naked. I’m kinda interested in what they make of it.

IMG_3802.jpg IMG_3802.jpg Well shit that didn’t go as planned. Why can anyone be honest about the condition of vehicles. The only reason it was clean is because they must have spent hours and hours detailing the truck. All I had to do was pop the fuel door to see what it was like before the detail. Holy crap I wish I would have taken a picture. All the chrome on the inside of the wheels were flaked off and some pieces were hitting the caliper making a crappy scrap noise. The truck had a bad second gear shutter. The clutch let out at the very top. There were bad repairs to the front sides of the bumper, deep scratches in the body and the rear bumper was pushed into the bed and paint was flaking off with rust underneath. They are asking what the MSRP was back in 2013!! It’s frustrating!!!!! Ok sorry rant over.
So the Camaro rental was fun to drive. It got 33.4 mpg for the 446 mile trip. I wasn’t driving that easy either. 70 in the 60 and 78 in the 70 zone. Did not use cruise and this little 4 banger turbo was freaking pretty quick.

Thanks, but all good. I have a bunch the Ram stuff. Changed out some of my setup for the Quadlock a year or so ago. I have spare bits and pieces of both brands here.

I might move on from Toyota Tacoma for a couple years. I would like to see how well or not the new 2024 turbo 4 with a manual pans out.

Well, if it has to be a manual and a truck, there are few options to choose these days. The enthusiasts that have kept manuals alive are either dying off or being infected with the EV instant torque lust. I don't thin we'll have manuals in anything worth driving in 5 or 10 years.
