Did he provide excellent service and answer all of your questions? I've never heard of anyone really doing it but I'm sure it happens. If you feel that they did a great job, you have the means to do so and they deserve it then why not :notsure:

They already got a bigger tip than what you intended when they made their sales commission.

Your tip is his commission, the reason he did the job selling you the truck. Maybe if he was selling some high end limited run vehicle but not a mass produced average pickup truck.

    Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllll noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Honestly, a 100% survey is the best tip a salesman should get, it means a lot to them, do that, NOTHING MORE.

The salesman at the Honda dealer where I bought my used Tacoma almost 6 years ago calls me every year.
Asks me how's my Tacoma doing for me?
    Its been a great vehicle.
I should have given him a tip.

Nope. In my experience they generally don’t know what they’re talking about and they try to sell you whatever benefits them the most with little-to-no regard for what the customer wants/needs. When I bought my Tacoma, the salesmen was trying to convince me that the hood scoop on the sport is fully functional. He also had no clue the trucks had apple car play.

Obviously there are exceptions out there and I’m sure there are some wonderful car salesmen but I have yet to meet one.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
If the service is outstanding I will offer a tip.

Then when the service sucks I have been known to ask if anyone has change for a penny ?

I need to leave a Tip!

FAK-NO! He gets a Commission and/or is paid a Salary

    I tip:
    Food Servers
    Massage Therapist
    Barbers
    Dog Groomers
Basically any one that touches my fat disgusting body (or my dogs) and the food that goes in it.
Maybe the black jack dealer if I do excessively well and then have plans to use that money to go get food.

If your car salesman touched your body then you paid too much for the car. I've hear of getting F-d over on a trade in but that is ridiculous.
We have created a society of people that expect Tip-flation just for flipping an iPad around and glaring at you. I square up eye contact with them and hit NO TIP. And if it were possible for me to DEDUCT 10% to 20% from my transaction for them even thinking that they were tip worthy, I'd do that too.
