My buddy convinced me that handguards are awesome. OEM Hypermotard ones go for a fuckin $1000 for the pair, even used. Found these discontinued Acerbis X-Tarmac in Poland. I think they fit the Hyper looks pretty well

Late to the party but I use T6 in my Versys and it loves it. By 5k the gearbox gets a little clunky and after a fresh change it feels like butter.

Bit of google said that 7500 is the interval, so you're definitely taking good care of it. Is the T6 synthetic?

It is! 1 gallon is $22 at Walmart and the Versys uses 2qts per refill. I also recently started getting the SuperTech oil filters since I've had good luck with the oil and those are only $3 each.

That's a dirt cheap oil change! Well done.

I am now contemplating the manual part now. I really didn’t enjoy the way that truck shifted. Super long clutch and engaged at the very top. It was the same when I test drove a 21 with a manual.
I am just tired of seeing over priced junk.

Thanks! Every time I get the wandering eyes and get tempted by anything else (like the BMW R1250RT) I just remind myself that nothing I get will be as practical as the Versys for as cheap. Running costs are seriously low and it's cheap enough that I don't mind ripping it apart for repairs (I pulled the cams to adjust the valves - definitely wouldn't be comfortable doing that on a $20k+ BMW). Now that I can mount and balance my own tires it costs next to nothing while still being a comfortable and fun bike.

Also I'm somehow down to paying $114/year for both the Versys and Grom for insurance.

Yeah, the hyper value inflation of stuff is going to be hard for people to let go of. They can't seem to reconcile that it was artificially and arbitrarily increased, and the items were never worth the crazy prices.

Do those trucks have an adjustable clutch rod? On my '91 I just played with the length of the clutch rod under the pedal to get the engagement right in the middle.

That would be fun I miss riding in the pines. I could get directly in the trails from where I lived it was great. There were a couple pits like that one with small tabletop jumps and berms that were fun to rip around

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
X2 on quad locks. I have run them all, crushed them all. It’s down to the quad lock, which I have smashed with my chest a few times, and we are still good. Just like homie said, tether them bitches. Hell tether everything but yourself ;)

Went to a huge dealer today. Talked a lot of bs with the manager. He hooked me the fuck up yall.
He asked why I was buying 6 helmets, gloves, jerseys of all sizes. Told him about my little training biz.
Dude was so awesome!! He gave me a huge discount and linked me with the GM. I gonna have a rotation now of new stock and he is gonna buy the 6-8 bikes back from me (given they are thrashed beyond plastics).
This shit is working out! Soon I will have the trials course finished. Come on bring your asses my way. I got enough space for you all lol

edit - funny thing is, this dealer had the worst rating you have ever seen on the net. But was the closest thing to me with a huge selection. Was hoping for a clearance section.

Ok I know my post have been about trucks and not bikes BUT I have one more truck to look at local tomorrow. OK I WILL BE RIDING THE MONKEY TO GO SEE IT!! Lol
Anyway it’s a 2013 Prerunner trd off road V6 Auto with 96000 miles, three owners and it’s less expensive than the truck I looked at today. It’s at the same dealership I bought my wife’s Mazda CX-5 at so hopefully I can get a few buck off of what they are asking. I do hate looking at pictures because everything looks good in pictures. Well I will find out at 10:15 AM .

I could be tempted to head out that way for a few reasons especially if a moto riding shindig was happening!

    This ^

I've posted it before but this guy did the Hammer Run, some of the tightest gnarliest single track south jersey offers.

    314464898_10159396479237106_7514443221408027025_n.jpg

    You'll fit lol.

I also carry a spare cross piece too because I smashed one of those. Between that and the tether I have been super happy with it.
