There is the Maverick, but that’s making the assumption that if you don’t want a bloated midsize pick up you want a car based small pick up?

    That doesn’t make sense either.

I want a small to midsize truck with a proper body on frame.

So I hope my third generation lasts me a while, even if it’s a bit big.

Think the 1st Gen Tundra was the perfect size, the 3rd Gen Taco is near that…so “close enough”

Still have my 1st Gen and drive them back to back, the 1G feels a touch squirrelly where the 3G feels planted, and rides a heck of a lot better. Only real complaint about the ‘21 is that it doesn’t get 30 mpg. Would be nice if Toyota focused on fuel efficiency rather than all out power for the new one. 4G isn’t any bigger than the 3G, wheelbase is longer so in theory it should ride even better. It is unfortunate they went overly aggressive with the styling.

My favorite Tacoma was the second generation regular cab, I had one in Kauai because it’s really tight maneuvering over there in some places.

I think my third generation access cab is a bit too long here in the bay area.

Not everyone has my problem, some people drive trucks as long as battleships in the middle of nowhere, but then again they never have to park where space is a premium.

I’m just saying the truck manufacturers should still make trucks for people who don’t want a bigger truck. And I’m not going to buy a car based truck because that Tacoma has gotten too big.

Had a ‘92 RC, loved the truck, but didn’t have enough cab space lusted after an Extra Cab, so sold that and bought one. Fits my lifestyle about perfect, the Access Cab even better as I always have stuff in there I don’t want in the bed, poor move on Toyotas part they got rid of it.

That said I can see the need for RC cab BOF, diesel would make it even better.

Trucks like the Maverick just don’t cut it, built more for families than actually hauling stuff.

My ex-wife is from Cupertino, have been to San Fran a bunch, definitely need a short wheelbase vehicle. Though think if I lived there, would do one of those city vans.

Yeah here in Idaho, not much of problem. Most of my dirt bike buddies are in diesel 1 Tons they make fun of my teeny tiny chick truck. So it is all relative.

My son-in-law did work in set design in Hollywood before the strike, now he’s decided that renovating rich people’s houses pays more.

He has a gigantic F350 crew cab long bed that he uses for work and it’s so damn big I tell him don’t even bother driving it up here to visit because he can’t park it in front of the house and if he tries to park in the driveway, it sticks out into the street.

I think once we took it to the Chinese grocery store and if you pulled into the parking space so it doesn’t stick out behind the white lines it was 3/4 into the space in front.
