Neither Weller nor Taylor have ever made an appearance in my county in my personal experience, so I was incredibly fortunate to find these two bottles. However, not just dumb luck as I’d been paying attention to the state inventory for some time. So, a combination of decent info, good luck, and a very nice couple of store clerks earlier this week.



Also came across a heel of yet another rare find, and got to walk away with the topper. And enjoyed a fine lunch with Mr. @jandrews.

Sounds promising, looking forward to trying mine and comparing notes!

No statewide lottery system here. Individual counties and stores have different systems for allocated bottles. Only seen one county ever do a lottery and that was for Pappy.

 

Weller Wednesday. About to run out of the only weller I’ve been milking for ages lmao

 

I was pumping gas this morning and the guy across from me shouted “they got him”

Then I over heard his police scanner in his car, big relief for the community, shit was stressful

 

That EHT BP is one bottle I can’t seem to get my hands on! Good find!!

 

Worked in Indiana a few weeks ago, this is what I brought back. Some cheap stuff, and a few I over paid for. (Not something I usually do if I can help it)

 

How’s the CoK? Picked one up not too long ago and I’m excited to open it

 

Kind of reminds me of the green top Willett. Has a raisin/plum note that’s pretty specific. I think it’s pretty good, not in my top favorites, but very unique.

 

Been wanting this KC12 for about a year but haven’t seen it until today. And the GD was $15 off. Dust on the bottle, am I the only one who likes George Dickel products?!

 

Got some really nice finds in there…the benchmark FP is the best $25 bourbon I’ve ever had.

 

I have become a big fan of the recent high age Dickel BiB releases - this year's is 13 y/o 100 proof for $50.

It's a hell of a value purchase.

I agree, I was pretty surprised how good it is for $25.
The geniuses at va abc put benchmark on the allocated list here. I guess buffalo trace anything goes on that list haha

 

They did it for a reason. The word got out about the FP and everyone in the controlled states it’s available in gobbled it all up. It came in to a local county a few months ago, got bought up, and never made another appearance.

 

I went back and had another CYPB last night - I like it, I think it would round out with a small ice chip. The cherry up front stands out to me with the spice on the backend, so I was right on the first night. If I could get one of these at cost, I would. I have three Weller bottles, need FP, 12yr and this CYPB. But, finding these at cost will be a challenge. I’d love to do a full Weller lineup tasting at once!

Stopped to grab some 4R after work and left with a bonus bottle

 

Wife came home the other day and surprised me with this. Never heard of it or seen it on the shelf before. Full of flavor!
