and some good news! My flashing CEL (misfire on 4) turned out to be a dead fuel injector. All better now.
Supply chain issues means I ended up with 1 new & 3 originals with 222k miles on them. Wait & see if that causes any running issues...

At this rate I am never going to get my shed finished. I managed to get the ice/water and felt on last Friday before the rain, but this weather has not yet let me put shingles on.

Headed up to Portland Maine this morning, could be an interesting drive...

 

Humpday! Today is supposed to be tremendous with the rain, but looking at the forecast we should get some reprieve after today. Everything being wet and damp all the time is really rather inconvenient.

Almost have the ark completed.

 

Fail. The positive and negative wires are reversed.

 

Fixed one. You can see what wires I switched.

 

Fixed the other adapter and installed the tweeters after work. Now it's time to change the mids because they sound like crap and the PASS side cuts in and out.

I figured it out. The tweeters are plug and play for a 3rd gen, you have to make them work on a 2nd gen.

 

J-F-C I hit the high on the disgustingness scale today.

Every fall I hose down the underside of my Tacoma.
The following weekend I spray or go have sprayed Fluid Film or Wool wax.

Well my Tundra e-friend from TN loaned me an Australian tool he has to rinse inside the frame.
It arrived today, so I used it today.
Rinse inside the frame, rinse outside the frame.
This year I used a mini zip tie to encourage any small debris out of corner, pinch welds, rocker panel drains...
Used my ungloved fingers to clear out debris in larger holes & to wipe down the grit from the frame.
Of course all the water / debris / some Wool Wax - dripping, spraying, splashing, and pouring all over me as I'm slithering around beneath the truck.
What was I thinking? LOL. What a freaking mess!

When I spray, I use cans of F.F. & it always seems to blow all over me, but that's nothing compared to guys spraying with a proper spray system.

LOL- when I was done I walked up to the door to go in & clean up, realized I couldn't open the door. Even though I'd wiped off on the driveway with the hose, my hands were covered in W.W., they looked like I'd dunked them into a bucket of grease. Ended up sneaking in through the basement, washed my hands 3x with hand cleaner grit stuff before they were clean enough to use a disposable rag on them. and another. Then I washed them another 2 times with Palmolive. Presentable in a dirty way. LOL, maybe I should have thought of using disposable gloves.

Any way - it's September & the truck is ready for it's winter underspray.

That is reminding me to order all the goodies I need to do the fluid film spray down on our vehicles. I cannot wait to be able to garage the taco next year and help prevent most of the rust from developing.
