The trim is an off road truck...8 foot bed defeats the purpose.

And the difference is you can actually build the Ford for that price...good luck finding a Tundra built that way without 4-5K more extras etc. I think they both are too expensive, but at least you have more options with the Ford.

Looks like Ford got rid of the NA V6 as well. Base motor in the XL is a 5.0, get a RCSB 5.0L comes standard with a 3.73 locker, LED lights on the base XL with the 12" screen built in at MSRP of $39,565. Granger will order it for you for 4% under invoice less rebates. Throw a 4/2 or 5/3 drop for a sport truck or get a 4x4 for $3,800 more

Sorry, was referring to the Super Cab 6.5’ bed, the wheelbase is the same as the CC Stumpy bed. Probably better off getting the XL and doing your own suspension anyway, like the Toyota TRD trim the suspension is kinda “meh”.

Was reading through all the options that come standard on the XL, more than I’ll ever need or use.

I have only looked at the Tremor trim lol...I don't think it has that option. They also have a 3.3 which is an odd one

You’re welcome. My first 3 Toyotas were all used so that might have something to do with.

Brand new vehicle you should be good for at least 200K. Most people dont keep them that long.

Base engine, means base model… :)

Dealer here does that here, bunch of bullshit add-ons. Lotsa bro-dozers.

Yep, both are too much money, wasn’t that long ago you could get the base model 4X4 with the V8 in the low 30s.
lol! Same…coffee is still too hot to drink, not quite firing on all cylinders yet

I was browsing thru the Ford builders and I think I would probably build a F250 vs the 150...you can get the xl with supercab 6.5 and a lot more practical capability for not much more money as long as your ok with the base gas burner. Which is ok by me, I really want more of hauler (truck camper) not a tow rig, so the base engine has enough for what I need it for.

Interesting times price wise for sure.

Yep probably do the same. By the time you do the heavy payload/tow package on the F150 could have a F250. Need an 8’ bed anyways and looks like they did away with the super cab long bed on the half tons. Kinda need both hauler and tow rig. Want an OVR LND camper for the truck, and the wife wants a travel trailer. She is now looking at Airstreams. Kinda liking the Trade Wind.

They got rid of the payload package on the 2024 from what I have seen. That floorplan is nice, I like the back hatch door, they got away from that for a while and I wish they would do that on more models. With the weight of the trailer and overland camper you could probably get away with hauling it and towing the airstream and still stay in spec with a half ton, I think you can still get 2300 lbs payload on the F150, but I forgot about your bikes, they might put you over.

The F250 would be a heck of a combo with the topper (bikes in bed) towing airstream.

Here's a question on trade values. I am not sure if the US is different than Canada. Say you are wanting to buy a 24 Pro and it is 65k the dealer offers you 40k for your truck. So you pay tax on only the 25k which our province is 15% so your 40k turns in to 46k on trade. Is that 6k coming out of the dealers pocket or just the tax mans. Hope this made sense. Thanks

Did they? Haven’t played too much with the configurator. Did notice payload is 2400 or something. Better than the Tundra, think it tops out at 1800.

Yeah think it would still be in spec with a half ton, but do like a bit of over kill. Bikes aren’t too heavy loaded down they are 265lbs/piece, some gear, spares, extra fuel and what not is still well under payload. But then you add the camper loaded, F250 would handle it better, and since the price is roughly the same, no brainer to go with the 3/4 ton. Only thing that would suffer is the ride when it isn’t towing.

Think Ford offers a better deal/package if you’re actually using it has a truck. Tundra seems like a glorified Tacoma.

Yeah the idea is to park the trailer for weeks at a time as a base camp , and use the truck with the ovrlnd for shorter exploration trips, runs to a trail head and fetching supplies.
