Hey all, does anyone have sliders that were powdercoated a color other than black? Mine won’t see much actual wheeling so will be more of an aesthetic to hide the pinch welds on my 3rd gen. Thinking of powdercoating them red but part of me thinks it could looks sick and the other part of me thinks it’ll look worse than a chromed out Chevy with 6” wheel spacers

What color is your truck? Here’s some picks of my old Frontier with the custom stuff I built in red. Just be aware that the red will fade over time. I ended up redoing them in black after a few years because the red faded and stared looking like crap. IMG_2347.jpgIMG_2339.jpgIMG_2346.jpgIMG_3614.jpg

Mine is silver. Why would the red fade though?

No shit, I meant why would red fade more than black. Or do people just care less about a sun faded black powder coat compared to a color, such as red?

Black is a more UV stable and breaks down slower. You could clear coat whatever color you want to help it not fade but it’s armor and will need touch ups… black is the easiest.

This is the basic just of it. Copied from an article on google.
Red has a very long wavelength and blue is very short. Because red paint absorbs blue light and others which are shorter in wavelength, the more energy it absorbs compared to other colours means the red pigment in the paint is eroded faster.
