Everybody is taking off their emblems so they can get that SR prestige look.

Never understand those that want to de-badge or de-chrome everything.

    Work in progress...
Find one you like and leave it, the way I did it anyway. A little bit of chrome stands out more than a glob.

Mine came from the dealer with black overlays. I hated them. So I removed all the badges.
I probably would have left them if they were the chrome ones from the factory.

I went with the black vinyl decales that just leave a hint of chrome on the outside edges of the badges. I did not like the the black overlays as they looked, to me, like a big hunk of black plastic stuck to the side of the truck.

Why not just remove the overlays?

Amazon has blackout covers for them that look good if you decide to keep them.

They are stuck on there pretty good. You're not gonna get fishing line in between them.

No, but with a heat gun you could loosen the 3M adhesive enough to get them off and just clean up any left over residue. I have some overlays I haven't put on our 4Runner yet and there really isn't that much to them.

Just throwing it out there since I haven't seen it mentioned here. To easily remove the 3m adhesive residue all you do is pull it away from itself the opposite of how you think you would peel something off. Be gentle, it stretches a bit and the adhesive magically let's go, no heat needed, residue no bullshit. Took 10 minutes to debadge my pro. It's the easiest way to remove it. Learned this years ago.

What I was referring to was taking off the black overlays and keeping the chrome letters. Heat would allow the closer adhesive (overlay) to release easier than the farther adhesive (under the emblem).
