if they had just re-released the hilux like this, but with with new safety structure... but kept it simple... How do you think it will sell? To me the designs below are way more desirable than the new tacomas..

I'd love to see what a mud salt water brine in SE Texas can do to a Hybrid electrical system. I guess you get to sink more in the mud too with the extra weight of batteries.

The front end suspension better be good. The 11 4Runner I test drove sucked ass. It dipped severely every time I hit the brakes when coming onto a stop.

I am already doing that. My 2007 Taco DB has only mid 30s mileage. I ride my KLR more and I barely feel it up.

It would probably sell terribly... but I would buy one, so pretty!

I wish Toyota would just make a super simple turbo diesel, solid axle, double cab, long bed, 6 speed manual, with factory lockers.

How do you think that would sell?

I know people didnt believe me when I said I saw the new tacoma this past late summer/fall testing but couldnt get pictures.

Well today just outside of Ann Arbor there was a traffic jam on the other side of 94 and I saw a toyota driver who's probably in trouble because he got stuck standing still in a new Truck with body armor on it. It was a next gen RAV4.

It looks alot taller and more boxy. It was easy to make out the shape but it was pretty hidden under the armor. Might have fenders like the 4runner.

Mehh....it looks too fleet truckish to me, like it belongs in the backlot of your local garden store hauling a few pallets of tomato plants. Nothing heavy duty. It looks wussy to me. I was on a date the other day and she said the current tacoma look like girl trucks. this won't help if others have that image (don't worry, for that and other reasons, this girl was not worthy :der::smack:

I love the IDEA of driving one of those. But I have to admit that I probably would get tired of having it as an only vehicle. The Taco is very nice on the highway and that is where I am most of the time. I'd be happy with a Tacoma that had a 3.0 liter diesel engine and manual transfercase in it.

I read somewhere that the 84-88 body style truck was built until 1998 or so in the south african market. Complete with carbed 22r engine. Would be great to import one of those crew cabs to play around with.
