Currently have the standard G45, though someone here said he/she had an MOS slide for the G45.

Recently travelled interstate but left all defenses at home because my 10-round gun is a plinker (G44). G43x (standard and MOS-ready both) are listed as "in stock" at a local Bass Pro. MOS-ready is $50 more than standard. Is it worth MOS-ready or do few people use MOS optics as "personal" especially with a sub-compact?

    Yes. Red dots>irons

Edit: Especially with a sub compact with short sight radius

I run a 407k on my P320 X-Compact (sub compact) and love it.. takes some time and practice like anything else.. but have adjusted nicely and dont know if I can go back.

I can't. Target focus instead of front sight focus is far superior and more natural. Recommend Sage Dynamics on YouTube if anyone is new to the RDS game.

I am much more a gun owner than a gun collector. Owning for use is my priority.

I have a Glock G22 ... practicing with .22lr is less expensive than practicing with 9mm ... certainly was a couple a years ago.

I purchased a G45 in 2020 based on my "previously uninformed reading of 'Guns and Ammo'" but logic seemed to support the long-grip/long-barrel. The man at the gun store supported the idea of "more rounds" on the basis that "home defense" could easily involve more than one person entering my residence.

But now I know that taking a 17+1 to other places gets tricky, and even sub-compacts have 19+1 capacity with available magazines.

Does a 43X MOS-ready make sense as a reasonable all-use or does the G45 have more advantages I have not learned yet?

I'll always try to carry the biggest gun when possible; so winter time, runs to the store, "sketchy" areas, the P10C comes with.

At work with no guns policy, LCP.

But, this summer after hanging out with friends for cigars, visiting family etc, I finally wanted something in the middle. Ended up landing on the 365XL. Ditched the WML light for this setup but did add the EPS Carry RDS.

the g43x is amazing. Especially when you can be rocking 15+1 rounds with the aftermarket Shield magazine (be sure to swap out the mag release though )

your accuracy and range will suffer somewhat. But with some practice you should have no issue within the majority of legally defensible circumstances

Rearranged these three. All test fired in their current configs last week. All ran flawlessly.

Any suggestions for a Glock-MOS compatible slide-mounted red-dot sight? $40 Amazon-special is off the table, as is $700 full-professional-grade. There must be a reasonable middle-ground.
