Thanks brother. Yeah, those guys on the SF were lucky the pressure hull was not breached! Something similar happened to the USS Atlanta back in the 80's. I forget what they hit but it crushed the sonar dome on the front of the boat. It's a dangerous game we played!

Carp is a super cool place to spend the days. "The Spot" is always worth a stop for their burgers.

Maybe we will see ya around!

Let me guess. The gummies were that "desiccant" flavor that came in the white pouch?

I don't know what that fruit is, but it tastes like shit.

I misread this as "Truck stickers go in the safe" and was wondering what type of stickers those were.

My uncle worked at Mare Island in California. Wasn’t allowed to say much about anything Navy, but told us to read the book

Excellent read! Also, PBS did a documentary on this book if you are not a big reader. As high tech as we thought things were back in the 60's and 70's, submarine espionage was in it's infancy.

If the flag is a sticker on the back glass then the stars should be at the top left when you’re looking at it. I’ll never forget watching a guy getting yelled at when I was in the military because he had a reversed sticker with the stars on the top right (backwards) on his back glass

This was in the UK, it's the colorful gummies. The brand is Haribo ... and yes the gummies here in US taste like poison

Yep, I am not a military guy, but I know about Flag Etiquette... also putting flag stickers on the sides of a vehicle... there is a left and right side.. basically when you stick it on, it should be stars forward just like when you are a flag bearer and charging towards the enemy.

It is on the left side of the back glass, stars to the left, bars to the right.

I put my stickers on the inside of my glove box, and then I have a Baja Designs sticker, along with other electricity related stickers on my electrical kit that I keep with my tool kit behind the driver seat. I have a nukeproof sticker on my visor. They only go where it's a perfect fit. If it's not perfect, they don't get applied.
