Opps…. Not 4 Runner, a Pre Runner!, a pickup truck, small cab, no extra space behind bench seat.

Well I don’t get to see many 6 lug Reg cabs around here. Most often the larger cab trucks.
I have a 2 Whl Reg Cab, baby Taco and have been here asking if the uncomfortable bench seat can be replaced with OEM bucket seats. At that time, had not seen an SR5 Reg Cab, so was looking at big cab Tacos. The real issue turned out to be the seat wiring, Air bag sensor etc. So aside from the floor pan, the idea went South considering the wiring mods to get things connected.
Can anyone here tell me if the SR5 (Reg Cab) buckets will hook up to the 2Whl Reg Cab wiring without harness problems? I have to believe I’m not the 1st to ask about this configuration change. Photos today: SR5 / Interior, Baby Taco / Interior

Have you done the bench seat mod? I’ve done it on my bench seat and way more comfortable than the buckets

but to answer your question if your taco is 2008 and newer you need to get the buckets with the airbag tags (2008 or newer seats)

Pretty sure he meant "PreRunner" not "4 Runner".

Mine is a 2009, so I guess fits in the category you describe. So look for the 2008 up to have the airbag tags (what’s an air bag Tag, a part number tag?). Also concerned about getting the circuit connected, as I do not expect a simple plug and play! It never is that easy!

Your current seat has an airbag tag on it right? Like an actual tag on the side that says airbags, when you go buy the buckets make sure they have the exact same tags on each seat on the side

HAH! I am amazed at how lame I can be sometimes! Have had this truck 10 yrs…….. and 1st I go looking UNDER the seat, take pictures, look at my Wife’s Highlander, etc. Then as I fold the seat forward to look for the tag behind it, my hand is ON THE TAG!! So yes, I do have the tag. o_O
AND…… looking back at the 1st photos, you can SEE the tag sticking out. Duhhh.

Like I said try doing the bench seat mod you’ll be amazed at the difference I hated my bench seat so bad I was going to sell my truck I did my bench seat mod and comfortably drove 19 straight hours to Bozeman Montana from SoCal in one shot (with fuel and bathroom breaks of course) and I’ve done countless 12 hour straight trips from SoCal to Moab and Colorado on it
