Wondering if this is a normal characteristic of the 4 cyl? I got a brand new 3rd gen, 4 banger and I have vibration as I slowly creep backwards in reverse. Basically no foot on the throttle. When I add throttle and speed up it smooths out.

I'd at least mention it at the free oil change unless it gets worse before that..the 2TR-FE model does make sounds at times from heat shields vibrating during shifting that are more sounds or tones then any felt vibrations..Yes not what your question was but it's worth mentioning perhaps as its a very distinct sound around shifting periods that apparently is a non issue when people tell the Stealership about it..I myself haven't noticed a vibration while reversing in my 22 DCSB with 10k miles on it..

Mine does that as well I also have a trd front skid and some cat shields. Always thought it might be one of them but maybe not. I have the same sound if you find anything post it up. You really need two people to find the cause of the rattle it’s only in reverse

I stopped in the dealer today to pick up tags and spoke the service dept. They had a tech check it out as he has a 2.7L 2WD and he said his is the same. Seems to be just a characteristic of the drive train.

It never bothered me enough you really need to have some one just lay down by the truck and back up slow, something is vibrating or maybe its a slight clearance issue. Its also seems like turning while backing up changes the noise on and off.

Yes. I've found the 2.7 doesn't really like to be lugged down to anything less than 1500rpm, unless you're going downhill and using engine braking.

I have a vibration too when going slow/lugging the truck. It comes from passenger side front end somewhere, it is annoying. Not sure if its the same as you guys speak of, but its there. Truck is manual transmission and lifted w skid plates. I need to solve it.
