Thing about the mitchmadeinc carrier bearing is tho it is pricey, I've already purchased and installed enough of the spicer and other brand carriers to have bought 2 of these I think?? Lol. Well, almost anyway.
Yet the beef of the mitchmade is so much more than what we get for $60-150.00 each time we have to replace the damn thing. Hell, it's now less than an hour job due to all the repetition. I'll have to get one after the BFFabrication lca's so that by then; there should be some good usage and reviews out of them.

I did and installed last week. No more take off vibes however I do feel slight vibes at higher speeds. Wondering if rebalance is necessary as I pulled the dust covers off since no need for those. Or is my rear angle to far off do to old leafs. U joints are solid not very old. Or is this just to be expected with this bearing?

    Don't leave us hanging...
From the forum combing I've done, the double-cardan solves the issue at the source, or is a sexy little piece of CNC for a CB the shudder savior?

It's the mitchmade carrier replacement as mentioned in the post before mine. I'm thinking it was a mistake compared to stock. I would rather have take off vibes then vibes and extra noise at highway speeds.

I'm debating on the usefulness of this vs a double cardan joint after the carrier bearing. I'm not sure if both would be necessary?

I think with the mitchmade bearing, dialing in your u-joint operating angles while in motion will be key since there is no more slop in the carrier bearing to compensate for poor angles. I'd rather have some slight take off vibes than vibes while going 65mph. Now that you have this installed have you measured your operating angles? You may need to play with shimming your axle a bit or maybe even dropping the mitch bracket a tad. Without a double-cardan joint I think take off vibes may always be a thing depending on how much lift you have and how much your axle wrap causes your operating angles to approach the u-joint's limits at initial take off.

Looks like I'm joining in this search... I have a mild lift on the rear, but I have hammer hangers, shock relocate, and a custom leaf pack that ends up giving me a ton of down travel and really stretches out my driveshaft to the point of prematurely wearing my carrier bearing. After this recent trip to Moab, it looks like it's pulled the rubber surround out of the bearing assembly. I've tucked it back in, but I'm getting bad vibrations at above 65 mph.

I like the idea of the Mitch bearing (https://www.mitchmadeinc.com/product-page/toyota-center-support-bearing), but don't like the post above saying that the vibrations got worse at highway speeds.

replacing the Ujoints on my driveshaft is a nightmare. wish i just bought a complete driveshaft after the way this headache is going. ill try again then might get this one if it doesn't work out plus lose the money spent on the 3joints and bearing. this job sucks. might get this one . https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NCV921527?ref=MA== its funny because its under $300 on ebay. 550something on napa. idk where to get a spicer oem one or how much that would cost

replacing the Ujoints definitely isn't as easy as youtube makes it look. after finally getting all the clips out (and broken pieces of most of them out) the new joint is so tight and with the clip in one side, the other sides cap won't go deep enough to see the recess for the clip while the clip that is in the other side is bulging out. should have just got a complete driveshaft in the first place

If you can’t get one of the u-joint caps “in” far enough, it is possible one of your needle bearings has fallen out. Pull the cap and check that none of the splines have fallen against the bottom of the cap or are stuck on the end of the u-joint.

@Speedo any updates on this? I recently replaced my u-joints and had my shaft balanced and it was way off. This may be worth trying for $100. Have you measured your driveline angles?
