It would depend just how many added loads your pulling out of that fuse block .

If you increased alternator out put.

    UPDATE ON MY FUSES:

While tightening my alternator belt, a clumsy swing of the ratchet managed to hit the fuse block and shorted through the wrench... don't ask who was this careless :anonymous:...

This forced me to look into replacement fuses and I found there are a lot of other sizes in that style. I ended up grabbing a set of 125A to leave some room for the future alt upgrade. They were super cheap ($6 for 5 on Amazon), and I feel silly for not looking into other sizes when I installed the wires. Just search for "ANL" fuse and dig through the 1000's of options. Nice part of the 5 pack is that I have a handful of spares to throw in the glovebox...

Next 10 minute project is going to be insulating the connections on the fuse block so I don't end up doing this again.

Not sure How you managed to make this move.

Hitting the battery Terminals when laying down the ratchet.

    That I could understand.

Yes. The truck starts instantly with this kit.

Regardless, the OEM battery cables are egregiously undersized whether you plan on adding any extra electronics to your truck or not, and I stand by that statement no matter what anyone says about how the factory designed them that way.

To be honest, I'm not currently running enough accessories/current to be a good test subject. I bought this kit because I already had the whole engine tore down and figured why not futureproof while I was there. But I agree with @redneck_adjacent, the factory cables are almost comically small when you compare them to the new... especially the neg to body lead.

I can say that their quality and customer service was top notch.
It sounds like if you have some existing electrical tools (crimpers, etc) you can make a similar product yourself for much cheaper. I was willing to pay the premium so I could make it a quick plug and play job. Just set aside more time than you expect to install/remove the harness 100 times if you plan on running the new cables through the stock paths. I managed to cram all the new cables into the stock harness plastics but I don't know if I would go that path again, was a giant PITA.

The kit comes with an in-line fuse between the alt and battery positive. I have mine temporarily mounted near my fan shroud, which is apparently very near the ratchet swing when tightening belts... definitely a mistake you only make once :bananadead:

I wish the story was more exciting... pretty much just ends with my ratchet spot welded to the fuse holder and my pants needing changed... not the first time I've made a mistake like this over the years but the first time I was holding the wrench when it happened!
It looks like most other similar fuse holders have a cover over the connections and not just the fuse, and now I see why. Since they're so cheap, I'll probably pick up a new holder instead of trying to insulate mine...
