    I went 2.5 front 1.5 rear.
    leaving 1/2" rake.
I haven't adjusted the lights at all but I also haven't been getting anyone flashing their brights at me so 1/2 rake must be enough.

Been considering trading in the gf’s Kia Forte for a Corolla or a Corolla Cross. They drive super nice and of course are bulletproof. What’s up with your rear axle?

Finally removed my steps, took only a few minutes and it not only cleans it up but makes it much easier to get in and out for me. Was considering dropping the air dam, but it’ll stay for the time being because I’m only doing street driving right now and I’ll keep the extra mpg’s until I eventually decide to add a locker and skid plates.

Uh oh! Someone just touched a live wire :)

Get ready for a lot of enlightenment.
After reading a lot of threads on the topic (search all you want and make your own choice), I'll do my best at a short summary: Fine as a tow hook, not a recovery point. Know how you will use your truck and the level of equipment you need.

Lurked for a long time, finally made an account and here is my 2021 MGM OR. Just got the new lift and tires on. Went with bilstein 6112/5160 combo and SCS wheels. So stoked with how it turned out

My wife has the 2017 iM. It is fine to drive especially in sport mode using the manual mode.

I’m stuck with my steps. I’d like to take them off, but my wife always uses them and says no way. :(

I only took them off because they went out a bit too far for me to swing my legs past them and my gf doesn’t need them. If you wanted to get fancy, I’m sure you could modify and add some automatic steps to have the function and improve the form.

I’ve seen those on one truck, but it wasn’t a Tacoma. I bet there is quite a bit of money tied up in those. The steps do protect against some dings depending on the vehicle next to you, but not always.

Same issue here. In the spirit of relationship give and take I removed all the steps but hers. We're still together.

Too late ... I already posted a link to the install issues of the ARB recovery point, a 20 lb chunk of metal costing $300+. It is also is highly recommended, but some do not like the cost.

Search the site (Google "arb recovery point tacomaworld" to see the hornets nest has existed for years.

4 years old, never garaged and still has a little shine to it. Ready for the weekend, 4 days with no rain, and 40 ish degree nights in the northeast

Mainly adjustability and overall better off roading, plus a bit more lift.

If you're married, I think having to leave at least one step is listed somewhere on the marriage license. You may be legally bound to leave one step.
I didn't read it that well though so don't quote me on that.
