Hopefully he'll make the uploads quicker too. They're painfully slow :turtleride:
Yeah its pretty bad. The only other option is to drive down the 38 then back up the 330 to get into Bear but honestly I don't know that its worth it. Sucks too, I really wanted to at least hit Gold Mtn. with some of you guys but not sure that's going to happen this year :frusty:

So in short, both of the trails to get up onto the mountain from the 38 are impassable at the moment?

Technically speaking yes. Unless you're really good at sweet talking the CHP into letting us go like 500 yards passed his barricade to the trail head

Haha! No no no. I’m sure you’ll be called around tequila time
Can still get up the mountain going down and back up the 330. Not a big deal.
To get up the 38 yes. 330 no.

@kyle11863 is 1N09 open going Westbound from where it intersects with Clark's Grade? You mentioned that you went towards Seven Oaks Rd and that's where all the closures/destruction was, but what if you had hooked a right onto 1N09 coming down Clark's Grade? Could be a decent stretch of dirt we could do across 1N09 > Santa Ana Rd > 330. I have next to no knowledge of the area, I'm just looking at Google Maps trying to see if we can get somewhere fun without having to go all the way down through Highland to get on the 330. That's like a 90+ minute drive to BB without traffic.

Any chance of setting up a skeet range? Just something to keep the kids occupied.

Oooo we got some of the bad kids coming? which ones?
Yes 1N09 is open west bound to the 330, however, there is still no access to it from the 38. Only options with that one would be to take Government Canyon out of Highland up the mtn, connect to 1n09, then work your way back to the 330 or get on Clarke's grade and loop it back around

I do know of a small trail out of Angelus Oaks we should be able to do. Nothing crazy but its dirt. Maybe we can see if that Tacoma that rolled off the edge is still there.

Also if I have some time this week I'll see if I can find a digital trail map that I can use to create a physical map showing what is still open and what isn't. Probably be a lot easier for everyone
Like legit skeet shooting? There's a few spots not far off the 330 on 1n09 you can shoot on. Place is trashed but good enough to shoot at :infantry:

Ran John Bull right before Hilary and it was fun. Ran gold mountain right after the storm and no real changes to it if anyone was curious.

I'd be down to run Gold. JB I need to ride along with someone first to see if its something I want to do with my truck. Somehow I've never been on that trail yet

Isn't that standard operating procedure for camping in a GX anyways? :boink:

WTF no one has mentioned the camping staples of Beer, wine, booze of choice, nacho cheese, chips, guacamole, salsa... or is this a given. someone needs to bring a smoker and some pork butt and brisket.

I will be there in spirit....
