    It was pretty expensive. Should be worth it. It’s a much sturdier pan than I have right now.

    A good thing is, that should you ever decide you need some extra oomf, it already had ports for turbo drain lines. :D

    The motor is stock, so probably like 350 wheel. If I put a big single on it I’d be aiming for 6-700 wheel.

    The OEM rear axle. Of course that was on much smaller tires.

    Scary. The shock load of 700HP plus the shock load of LT, scary. Maybe one day I’ll get a full fab rear axle.

    I like to think the shock load of 250-280whp on my truck is a nice safe space. Front diff is definitely the weak link

    At least my truck isn’t stick shift anymore. Might fare a bit better now that it’s auto. The trans is overbuilt for the application. Diffs are stock. That’s my next weak point I think.
    454 is gonna truss my axle soon. Maybe when I blow ring gears I’ll put an ECGS third in, but I’m not sure those will fare any better will they?

    My ecgs third with 4.56’s lasted 2yrs on mid travel with 33’s, 4yrs with 35’s and lt, and just over a year after the switch to 37’s before the rear let go. Then went to a tundra rear with 5.29’s.

    Was that cryo treated as well?

    We all know though that gear ratio goes up, pinion size decreases. Thus at some point, depending on how the vehicle is used, a larger overall axle/ring&pinion are necessary to overcome that smaller original size.

    I recently started running 4wd when going fast. At least locally in the cinders. Going too fast chasing my buddy around in his race car and the added control is nice.

    That wasn’t cryo treated. But the new setup up front is. Front got everything that could come out cryo treated and rem polished and the rear just got rem polished. The 10.5” rear is freaking massive

    That's what I was curious about. I originally was thinking I'd just run 2wd going fast to save the front diff, and I wasn't too worried about it crawling because I can be gentle, but then I started thinking it might be nice to run it in 4wd going fast too, but then I'll be worried about breaking it

    For years I ran my boosted taco on 33's in 4wd at the sand drags and beat the crap out of it, not to mention wheeling too. Toyota rear with 4.56s lasted a good while (~8 years). It finally decided to let go after about 2 years on 35s. I threw in a new ECGS 4.56 3rd a few weeks ago. We'll see how long it lasts. The front (minus a grenaded CV here or there) has been solid so far.. knock on wood.

    I'll be running 39's with 500hp which is what worries me.

    I have been considering trying to find a tundra front diff and shoving it in the front, but they are really hard to find, and pretty big.
