Oh, I don't feel bad! Mostly... inconvenienced since it's my DD. I'm grateful for where and how it landed and incredibly grateful for the people who showed up to get me out! Realistically, it probably won't be my last flop but I'd like to learn from the experience where I can.

Cool - thank you. I may make that adjustment. I dialed it all the way up in the front (which actually sits a bit higher than the rear) because I wanted a better attack angle on obstacles. The solution is clearly dialing down the suspension and buying a better bumper. Hang on, I'mma tell the wife and see how that goes. :D

I had mine in 4-LOW with the rear locked. I can say that the airbags went at just about the time that the mirror touched the dirt so at least they didn't go until the flop was imminent.

You know, that's what one of the guys who pulled me out said as well! Like it just rolled over all peacefully and went to sleep. Which, is not that far from the truth, I guess. :)

I’m curious to know how your droop “increased” with 885s and 5100s over stuck?

5100 are extended travel over the factory yellow shocks. 885’s provide the height without preload.

Yes, 5100s are about 3/4s longer than stock, BUT you increased static right height by 1.5”. So that means you’ve got about 5.25” uptravel and about 3” of downtravel max. Stock is about 3 3/4 up and 3 3/4 down. Any more downtravel and you gonna start binding stock CVs/UCAs/LCAs.

You can easily measure your downtravel by jacking up one side and paying attention to when your tire lifts off the ground.

FWIW, I’m running 2” OME lift. I’ve only got 2 1/4 of downtravel. Nitrocharger shocks are stock length. So if I had extended length shocks, I would get 3” max downtravel.

For this guy, off-roading didn't become "fun" until I knew my DD wasn't my off-roading vehicle. I spent way to many Sundays wrenching on my only vehicle for Monday morning. Since 2004, my "whatever" went on a trailer and NFG.
If you ever make it up to CO for a trip, hit me up and I can take you out on some of that NFG off-roading.

Don’t quote me on the numbers since I’m fully skidded. So give me a couple of hours to measure my current numbers. But I can tell you I’m like 1/8” from making any contacts or bind if I’m correct. Will provide sitrep later on.

Can’t help with your situation, but props for getting out there. The Taco is replaceable but you and the pup are not.

No it doesn't. If you hold the button for 3 seconds it entirely disables them from deploying. This is straight from the Toyota manual. Who told you it just reduces the sensitivity?

Numbers are in. Im currently Away from home and this is the only thing that I could have a measurements.
First picture is at resting in the parking lot:
    IMG_1993.jpg

Second picture is at full droop:
    IMG_1994.jpg
The angle was kind of weird with the camera and therefore I opted to take a picture at the 0” level:

    IMG_1995.jpg

third picture is no bind or contact at full droop:
