I am doing something that isn’t popular but I am going to be lowering the truck. I have the SOSperformance kit. Just wanted everything to be fresh. I have a bilstein take off shocks coming so it will be like new suspension.

In exactly 2 weeks the DR has come along really nicely - Got keys a couple days in, and we found the gas tank was completely scaled/rusted on the inside (including the lock cylinder which had to be drilled out).. vinegar for a couple days and a solid pressure wash afterwards and it's good as new. Carb rebuilt kit, new battery, and an oil change along with a petcock disassembly+clean and it's running like a champ!

Only thing left now is front brakes.. we put a new line on (old one was completely blocked) but cannot get any pressure to build in the system.. it does push fluid slowly down to the caliper and out the bleed valve, but never actually builds pressure or engages the piston.

And for some reason these things seem like they keep multiplying.. I swear there was just 1 not that long ago?!?

I really need to get out on the R3 this weekend. Been riding the monkey so much I am sure it feels jealous. Both bikes are a ton of fun.

Gotta be really careful using vinegar on the inside of a tank. I assume you did that to avoid ruining the paint? It likes to flash rust!! Best thing is to rinse with HOT water and baking soda. Then coat with something like WD40 and immediately fill to the brim with gas.

Used vinegar on the last tank we did and it worked out. Hot water and baking soda on both and some 2 stroke oil in the gas topped off afterwards! It's been successful so far.

You were one of the folks on this thread I thought might be interested. Are you going to actually build it or just keep it in the box? If you build it please post pics!

So like Sarco area? or off Lacey Road? I ride both the Greenwood WMA and Brendan T byrne and everything in between. No one hassles you because I have a plate on the main roads and only at risk coming out of a trail. If I somehow came out of single track right in front of a ranger I would just rip a u turn and head back the way I came but I never needed to yet.
