Is there an official anti EV crowd? Even when you split the masses into external opposing spheres. Electric Vehicles fall into both influential spheres, and I don't think there are any anti EV people on either side.

Yeah more of a carfax and insurance co. F up there. Sounds like Tesla wasn't much help initially, about as helpful as any car manufacturer no real difference there.

1st time I've ever heard of this happening that I'm aware of. I found this to be interesting.

In the future Tesla, or any EV manufacturer could block your changing capabilities, if they go subscription based, or for what ever reason they see fit. Maybe you miss a payment, your blocked. Tin foil hat response Elon doesn't like the wicked meme you posted on X, and he blocks you like Amber Heard.

As long as there's cash you can buy gas at a gas station that's open.

To be clear, Tesla can block you from using their proprietary high speed Supercharges. It is the Supercharger that is blocking, not the car. Tesla does this if your credit card on file is no longer valid, or if the vehicle has been totaled, among possibly other reasons. Tesla does not block your ability to charge at L1 or L2 chargers. Those chargers are ‘dumb’ and not reading your VIN/Tesla account like a Supercharger.

I would only want to use the Superchargers if I was recharging away from home, it's faster but look at what could happen. This woman was blocked because of a 3rd party clerical error. I can see the totaled vehicle status being a saftey issue. The charger blocking the vin for what ever issue, wouldn't even allow the use of cash if that was an option. All chargers should accept cash payments. I can see the charger networks not wanting to deal with the collection process, but anywhere that does not accept cash is inconvenient. Lots of people still use cash. What happens when the network is hacked and no one can charge? What happens when lenders buy into charging infrastructure, and you miss a student loan payment? Did you get blocked?

I know some of this is off the wall, could apply to any electronic payment system and consumer product.

damn, $100m for 6 % of the chargers? also, how long have these been in service? already needing replacement wtf?

does the DOT provide funding for fuel pumps that go out at fueling stations or does the owner assume that cost?

That fighter jet that went missing the other day cost about 100 million. Nobody seems to be upset about that..

Yes the US oil companies got 1 trillion dollars last year in US taxpayer subsidies. That better pay for a bad gas station pump.
