there is the one guy that thought everyone was out to get him. We were watching what he did, and his wife wanted a bigger television.

 

I'd take anything from 1967-1979. Dent side or bump side, I don't really care. I like the grilles on the 1973-1977s the best, but the interiors of the 1967-1972 the best.

 

1960 Ford F 150, my dream truck.

 

I was unaware the 150 went back as far as 1960.

I'm really curious if the 150 overlapped the 100, and what the difference was.

 

F100, yep....trying to find a stock one has proven elusive now that I have a few dollars to buy one. That is the one truck I want to drive it just the way it is.

 

The fiancee just gave her 63 f100 to her sister. It was stock, but I'm fairly sure it needed a lot of work. I haven't looked under the hood of that one. I have seen the state of her MR2 and the Subie Baja, and the latter is basically at the point of full drivetrain rebuild, interior reupholster, and exterior repaint. The MR2, well, you might get a couple of good body panels out of it.


I would love to take on a project car. I just have no room in the hobby schedule for that kind of commitment.

The article paints a dark picture of the current and future state of our privacy. With our legislators votes more influenced by lobbyist pressure than constituent opinion, don't look to future laws to address the continued decline of privacy. Until the mid 70's 1/2 ton trucks were F100, D/W100, C/K10 from Ford, Dodge & Chev.

Along came stricter emission regulations, unleaded fuel & catalytic converters.

By carefully reading the regulations the manufacturers discovered that "heavy duty" light trucks (around 6200 pounds GVW if I remember correctly) fell outside the above new regulations.

The result in 1975 was the 150's from Ford & Dodge, Chev called their package "Big 10", GMC used "Heavy Half". These were pretty low cost option packages to get around the unleaded fuel requirements, you could still purchase the 100 models but they came with converters.

Usually the HD package was a few extra items: an extra spring leaf, larger cooling fan, larger air filter, etc. and most importantly that higher GVW rating.

I had a 1977 Jeep Cherokee (full size SUV, body on frame) with a 258 six cylinder engine, the air cleaner had a decal mentioning "heavy duty engine" and approved for regular (leaded) fuel.
