So ive been walking the trails of this forum trying to read and get some knowledge on lifting this truck of mine. Ive seen the arguments between shocks, ucas, blocks and aals. So i think ive found what im looking for. Just want someone to help confirm these selections or tell me, no thats not what you want. I also have no idea about bumpstops and which one to pick if any

Bilstein 6112/5160's are a solid choice. What weight have you added to need the 650lbs spring upgrade? JBA high castor UCA's would be my suggestion for alignment benefits and easy serviceability/maintenance. I'd recommend a full leaf pack (icon rxt's) over the aal if it's in the budget.

Hotshotoffroad has several bump stops. You might reach out to @memario1214 for suggestions on a complete package.

This is extremely beneficial. Im walking a dark path without a flashlight here. As i was reading about weight and the springs, i was planning on adding body armor bumper with winch, roofrack, and possibly bed rack/rails. That was my thought process behind those.

With the uca, i just picked the ones that were some brand as the shocks for consistency in brands, i know some products in the world work better same branded.

Im sure i could squeeze it into budget, i chose the aal because i read somewhere that it was a better option than blocks. Didnt really see full leaf pack, probably because they were trying to save me some $$$.

And thank you again for the response and information. I have a vision of what i want my truck to look like, im just so new to this stuff i dont know how to make it a reality, and any input from you guys here at TW help immensely. Thank you!

Honestly, do the other upgrades first so you know exactly how much weight you will have added. By that time you can get the right setup… and I can bet you will change your mind on the setup by then completely…

it’s not the “fun” answer but it’s the one you need given what you’ve shared.

    good luck!

Thank you! So in my mind in was mod bottom up, lift->wheels/tires-> bumpers/rack. But youre suggesting to reverse that?!?

Yes, add the weight you are normally going to carry. Then determine the coil springs and leaf pack you need.
As a person that has lifted his truck 4 times, including once back to stock. As advised by the service guy to try and get something fixed under warranty.
So, if the truck is still under warranty, leave it alone. When you get out of the warranty period, then play with it all you want. The catch 22. Then you better be able to do it on your own or have a reputable independent person/ shop do it right.:hattip:

Like tcjacado said, I’ve also done it where I quickly add a lift before doing other mods and then have to end up redoing it all.

Learn from our mistakes and get the heavy stuff added first, then pick the right suspension, wheels and tires.

toss a notecard inside a baggy and put it in your glovebox. Write anything down on it you add to that card and you won’t have to guess later. Ask me how I know…..

Robert, If you just want the Lift first, Bilstein recommends you keep the stock coils. No need to change them out yet, and the same with the bump stops or even the ucas. That you can do much later if you do decide to ad weight in the future.

But right now, you can have that nice ride height with the Bilsteins, and add taller, better A/T tires.

Lift & Tires and enjoy the ride.....
