What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Denso if you can. I have a different brand now cus I needed one on the fly but the Denso was almost 10 degrees cooler at operating temp.

In case anyone was curious, replacing the xAxis joints in a SPC arm isn't hard at all. Takes about 45mins per side as long as you have a drill and a press. Their instructions are good and the new joints come with a press tool so theres no Jerry rigging necessary.

 

I keep stalling on the tear down of my truck for the LS swap. I have a buyer for the driveline and need to get the tires (35s) and suspension (icons/foxes) sold so I can get the Tremec. In the mean time the truck makes a good run about.

I don't think he wil mind when it's all rebuilt but he sure looks comfortable as is.

In all seriousness, don't get a champion, they are pieces of shit. A lot of us swapped over to them and I think all of us ended up changing em out, the build quality is not good.

@ShiftyShank your gonna end up changing that thing sooner than you think, a quick search on this forum will yield some horror stories.

 

Well their lifetime ain't very long, also it only wore out on side I really hit hard

Do you know if the X Axis joints work with the older style tubular arms? Think my original poly bushings are starting to go.

 

They sell a retrofit kit, but I'd recommend finding new poly bushings instead, they last longer.

 

I made the mistake of not buying a couple sets of the OG poly bushings while SPC still offered them.

Do you know if they’re a ‘standard’ size?

Yeah I was a little surprised too, I recall talk of them being discontinued to try and push the x axis joints and new arm design.

 

My recollection as well. I’m glad there are still some of them available, given the mixed reviews on the X-Axis stuff.
