Very nice. I’ve had a request in to my local dealer for a new no-date sub and an OP41 for a couple years now.
One day I might get one.
    Just a beautiful watch.

thanks, man. I still can't believe it. I have a theory that this wait list thing is a bit more 'squeaky wheel gets the oil' than the AD's make it seem. I was in the neighborhood a couple weeks ago and decided to stop in and touch base with my AD contact - I thought why not, it had been a while and I wanted to see where I stood on the "list". I also wanted to start looking at other options assuming the rolex may not ever present itself. I'd been on the list for 2+ years and hadn't been in the shop for close to 6 months. So I stopped by, had a good chat with my contact, solidified exactly what I was looking for and voila...1 week later I got the call that a submariner had showed up with my name on it.

Coincidence? Maybe. But also maybe not. My gut says it certainly wouldn't hurt to check in, show face, and talk shop with your local AD every other month or so just to stay top of mind...because I really think the allocation/wait list process varies a lot from AD to AD and any afternoon could present some weird opportunity. You never know what might have been delivered the day you stop by.

Seiko or Invicta is all I need. Ive set them and looked a month later and they only lost a second or two. Good enough. I love how this watch caught a watch snob once "what kind of watch is that?" (he thought it was a brietling because of the wings I guess)

INvicta Pro Diver I bought one of the first ones that came out

was at a coffee shop and got to compare a real sub with the invicta i happened to be wearing….the Rolex was unsurprisingly wayyy better but you really couldn’t complain about the invicta…. ……though in this day and age. I think the Steeldive has dethroned the invicta for budget sub homage…

Tandoori w nh34 or 35 screw down crown and back 200m wr.. a good budget option though I would not actually trust 200m wr but probably fine for swimming
