I recently purchased my 4th Toyota Tacoma where while driving the other day in the rain, I got a TRAC off, check engine light, low oil pressure, and high transmission fluid temp warning where the truck then continued to stall. This a 2023 with 1000 miles on it. Has anyone experienced this with their Tacoma's and if so, what was the issue?

    Thanks

Dam that sucks. Looks like it’s going to be a trip to the dealership.

No mods, only lifted 3 inches, which was all done by the dealer. Yeah, it sucks and was immediately towed to the dealer.

I’m wondering when they put the lift on they cut or damaged a wire exposing it to the elements causing a short

I meant in reference to lights, or performance parts. That is very good possibility. I have pretty much put them on notice, that there will be no experimenting and if they cannot 100% find and fix the issue, then they can buy the truck back.

On the 5th Gen 4Runners you could stretch the ABS cable installing the front lift.

    A couple of thoughts:

The process of installing the lift could absolutely have caused something like a loose ground or nicked wire that is the source of your problem. Not saying this is the case, but definitely a solid probability assuming you are now being forthcoming about all mods done to the truck.

I would not be putting anyone "on notice" at this point. As we used to say in the Navy, never piss off the guy who is feeding you. Give them a chance to fix it before you break out the torches and pitchforks.

I seriously doubt they will buy back the truck over this. Again, give them a chance to fix it.

What 3in lift kit did the dealer install for you? I didn’t know the dealers installing anything besides the TRD lift kit on our trucks. I’m not really sure what other companies Toyota pairs with that offer a 3in lift kit..

I've seen my dealer put spacer lifts on Tacomas and Tundras, do a blackout on the chrome emblems, put on aftermarket wheels and AT tires and some black running boards, then boost the price of the truck by 10k. The fact that they don't know what they're doing never stopped them before :p And I agree with the others. While I understand your being upset don't start out by making an adversarial situation right off the bat. They know darn well that you have to go through your state's lemon law process to get them to buy the truck back, and even then it's the manufacturer that buys it back, not the dealership.

We did have a guy come on here one time that said he was going to demand a TRD Pro from the dealership upon having issues with his lower trim level (I forget which one). If I recall correctly, it didn't exactly go well for him.

X2, no dealer here would even recommend doing that, let alone do it. A buddy did a 3'' rc lift to his 2019 trd. It made the truck so screwed up, he ended up trading it in for a new frontier.
