IMG_3462.jpg The left line is leaking and the nut is tight. What will i habe to do to stop the leak? Can i apply something to the threads? Im assuming the cover in photo fits over the knuckle

Holy moly...that is an old one....

Whats happened is you've damaged your double flare crimp on the end of the line..

usually that happens because the tube end wasn't absolutely square when that nut/bushing was cinched down...
and thats the high side to boot...

I have used these to repair leaky fuel double flares.......I keep a set in my toolbox.

Thanks guys, i forgot all about those copper washers. Im thinking now that its leaking where the steering shaft goes into steering box. Im going to power wash it and double check. Its loosing way to much fluid to only be leaking out of that hose fitting.

you think the #10 copper seal will work? Thats the measurement of the line before the nut.

Your washer opening has to be slightly smaller than the orifice size??

Here's the the #8's that work for the fuel lines....

When my fuel line got jacked around....

I went and pony'ed up for a new $100 fuel line...

AND I used the washer....so I didnt have to use twist of THOR ... to clamp it down....
    and risk damaging it again.....

If that end crimp on that flare is damaged too much.....or the receiver part that it screws into is split or creased you'll still leak....

got to inspect everything real closely.....

On mine I had a thread messed up on the very start thread on the bushing nut.....so when you tried to tighten the bushing....it would just jump thread and go crooked there forward....and now the tube is not square at this point....
and even bends the tube a little...

I had to go and get a thread chaser and clean the receiver threads up...

and take a needle file and redo the first thread on the bushing.......

    what a royal PIA....

That tube has to square all the way.....till the nut is tight....

Thanks for your input. Now the plastic shroud. Does anyone know what holds that in place. I see a bracket but have no idea how the shroud connects to the bracket. Thanks in advance.

That plastic guard is there.....I imagine is because there's a rooster tail of water coming off each side of your front tires when you drive thru deep water.....

If that was mine I'd be tempted to get a zippered cv replacement boot/double clamps.....and get rid of that...

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
From the looks of that line I would just make a new one.

Those plastic covers tend to get tossed the first time they are removed.

I have never seen one on any of the 4x4 Toyota`s that passed through my shop.

I took the air cleaner box and radiator overflow jug out and put a new high pressure hose in from Napa. It was a 50 dollar hose but still leakkng a little around the threads of nut. Is there something i can use on nut threads to help seal them?
