A few additions to make me feel cool.
Either Toyota has found something or they were sandbagging the first half of the year. The speed in the Toyota camp is pretty strong right now.

I am SO happy the 22 can't back into another championship by being decent at a handful of tracks this year. Fuck that guy!

The tracks in round one have been tracks that Toyota has traditionally been pretty good at so I'm not too surprised.

Point reset is the biggest crock of UnAmerican shit I have ever heard of. It's like you qualified 28th but manage to work your way up the field. Nope, every restart you have to go back to 28th. ..."to reward the crews with consistent seasons." It's like you were a 580 or so ball team so if you make the World Series you have to start 2 games down and 3 scores in the third game behind. Even if my driver was the sorry sucker rewarded I wouldn't like it one bit. Not one bit.

Yes and no. There's bonus points awarded for your success and the point is to remain consistent to make it to the final 4. Unlike before when you could have a good first few races and then just coast.

The only change I'd advocate for is to reverse the playoff format. The first race is an elimination race. Sort of a last chance qualifier. The rest of the rounds (including the final round) are 3 races.

I mentioned awhile back to look for some surprising changes in the schedule for next year.
It looks like it has begun!

Several changes announced and there should be more to come.

What is wrong with scoring 4 TD's in the first quarter and then going to the running game? NASCAR is the one saying they want to be like other sports. You work your ass off to move up from 9th to 4th only to go back to 9th on the reset? Bullshit.

Again, the "reset" is based on points you earn with bonus points you received for your accomplishments throughout the year.

What's wrong with it? People stop watching. When their driver has no shot or the championship is wrapped up with 3 races to go after the winning driver only needed to place 35th or better. You need to remain consistent.

I don't have a problem with them setting to points back to 0 or 2,000 or what ever. I have don't like them reseting the position of the teams. If you worked your way up from 16th to 3rd or went from 1st to 7th then that is where you belong. ..."well the Yankees are down 3 games in this World Series but were gonna move them back into the lead so fans will continue watching."

But again, it's not a full reset every time. It's based on bonus points you've earned through all of the races. So if you performed well, you'll be rewarded higher.
