If it hasn't been used much or in a while the valve might be stuck.

They generally look something like this:



Turn it on and wait a few minutes, then reach back there and give it a couple of whacks with a long handled serving spoon or ladle. Either it will work or not but it won't cost anything to try.

I have had to do it to mine several times over the years - always after it hadn't been used for a long while.

 

I'll give it a try if I can find it!!!!

Usually centered at the back of the broiler compartment under the oven floor.
Find the burner for the oven and follow it back.

It is probably new enough to not have a pilot light - just don't smack the ignitor.

The broil part has a glow stick, or whatever it's called. I'm assuming the bottom does too, I'll take the cover off this evening. Thanks for the info Rusty

 

Hey, Adam needs some new tires!

 

Hot surface ignitor.

You should see that glow before the gas will come on, I believe they are easily replaceable.


My stove is about 50 years old, it doesn't have any of that fancy stuff...
