    We got hit with a decent amount of rain yesterday. That was the first day since July 9th that I didn't get to ride.

    Good morning all!

    @bucktales TY for the pics!

    Good morning. This week will be about filling in the holes where the trees used to be, repairing the ruts in the lawn and putting down grass seed. Going to be a busy week.

    And my Pinto wagon got rear-ended 3 times. All that happened was I got different color parts.

    Back on the Medicare stuff...... I've got a "G" plan supplement myself - my wife is still working for a fire department and covered there. When I went shopping - to see if there were appreciable differences in the pricing of the same plan, I used a broker to do the sorting. What I found was that the companies right up front ask for a list of your "maintenance medications". They consider those to be a considerable tattle tale of your medical history - then base their pricing accordingly. Seems somewhat counter-intuitive to me - those meds have historically kept me out of the medical "system" for a minimal cost - and the "D" plan covers them anyway. I really wonder if there is actual evidence that the med list really gives them an accurate judgement.

    Hoping everyone is well today. You have me thinking about Medicare. I'm not quite there yet but my wife who is a year older is starting to get the junk in the mail. I have 10.5 years of paid up insurance for both of us from my retirement but they'll require me to use Medicare then they'll cover the difference. I don't know exactly how that works. You've inspired me to make some phone calls to my retirement office and see. My friend just went through some cancer treatments that the hospital claims is around $340,000. Medicare is picking up most of that which he is grateful for.

    Today's activities include calling the dealer for the 3rd try to get the truck to quit pulling to the right. I swapped the brand new front tires this morning with the same result. Hopefully I can get it in first thing tomorrow morning. I am putting a new spool of Seaguar Invizx line on my spincast reel for my fishing trip to the Madison River on Wednesday. That's good stuff. Going to smoke some teriyaki pepper jerky which my friends all beg me to make. Making a batch of huge chocolate chip cookies. General putzing around. I better get started. Later.

    Have a good day all.

    It's my understanding that vehicles are supposed to pull (slightly) to the right because running off the road is considered better than head-on collisions. But the pull should be able to be adjusted by the alignment.

    Originally a nice chestnut color, it ended up with a purple & wood-grain rear quarter, and a black back hatch - with a bonus deflector. Eventually, it was all rattle canned black, except for front windows, windshield, and back. "Sedan Delivery!"

    SHOULD be a breeze! Medicare becomes your secondary insurance; picking up what the other doesn't. Mostly, you should probably pay nothing.

    Go Putz!

    Morning all:

    That's a gorgeous 63 R-code with a bubble hood, not a Ford guy, but love the looks of the 63 and 64 Galaxies, especially those with the 427's!

    I pay medicare every month, but get VA.
    If I quit paying medicare, (I am told) it would cost more each month to join again.
    I will never need medicare. I am paying for all those that do need it.

    My broker didn't ask for the med list till I got done choosing my plan. The one I came up with was a flexible premium $38, 73,141 a month supplemental health insurance. 38= co pays for dam near everything. 73 the one I took only $15 co pay for specialists testing, GP, and silver sneakers included. The 141. A month was no copay period and for someone who was very sick and needed lots of extra care. All switchable with 10 days before the billing date. The med list was for the best drug plan. My wife has BCBS for drug and I have Humana. Part c was something else, we are just outside of the brake even slot because of our income. Who'd guess, it's better than paying the high premium and higher deductible when working.

    I fully support that... although my hands would probably be otherwise occupied.
