    Hey guys,

Just passed the break in period for my 2011 access cab. I originally had a 2003 DC with the 3.4l. I loved it but it was time to move on. I had a flowmaster 40 series on it and it was raspy at high rpm.

Any video ive seen of the aero turbine 2525 on the new 1gr motor is also pretty raspy.

What are your opinions on the resonated version of the 2525. Think this would eliminate the rasp and give me the sweet deep aggressive sound i desire?

I have a few videos on youtube (can get to my most recent ones in my sig). I really don't think I have a whole lot of rasp going on...

    Thanks for the quick response.

do you have the plain 2525 with no resonator?
or the 2525xl that is resonated?

i see from the video you have a seperate resonator.

think this will sound about the same with the resonator and muffler as one unit?

I would think it should sound about the same...Give or take

I am now running the 2525 with an added resonator, but have videos from just the 2525 as well

I have the AT2525 with AR25.... I love it so much more than the AT2525. The AT2525 sounded great, but after a while, a little less noise was nice. It removes ALL rasp and brings out the low end of the exhaust note. Highly recommend!

I have the 2525 with no resonator and it does have a little rasp. I'm thinking because of my 98% long highway commutes I might go ahead and throw a resonator on it gets old after a while.

After all these responses (many thanks) I'm definitly going to get the resonated version of the muffler.

Now the question is do I just cut out the old one and clamp the new one in? Or take it to a shop and have them weld it on. I want to retain the factory pipes and look.

Also I bought the extended warranty on my truck (pricey!) and I don't want any issues with the dealer when they see my cut out muffler with a new one in it's spot. What are your experiences with the dealers and a custom muffler? Bernardi Toyota of framingham is my dealer any one have any experiences?

Yes I know about the magnuson moss act.

    Thanks guys

^Get it done correctly and just get it welded on. It should cost about $50-$100 depending on where you. go...should be closer to $50. As far as the warranty it is illegal for a dealership to void your warranty based upon the modifications on your car. Its actually a federal law. The only thing they wont do is cover any mods you put on.

Just to clarify...Ive read they void the warranty if they prove it caused the issue. Can you clarify?

Sure basically what they mean by that is lets say you go and install a TRD supercharger with a shot of nitrous oxide and don't get it tuned right and it ends up detonating. Obviously the dealer will not cover the repair because they it was caused by improper tuning of the aftermarket parts you installed. But if it's something as simple as a bolt on or weld on part in this case there isn't much that can go wrong.

ok so im convinced that the 2525xl welded on is the way to go. but i recently came across the flowmaster american thunder kit. it doesnt appear to be resonated but the fact its a bolt on install with dual outs makes me really like it.

Is the lack of a resonator on the flowmaster kit gonna sound ricey or raspy?

what would you prefer the 2525xl or the american thunder kit?

if you go with a bolt-on or clamp-in installation, please be aware that it will leak, causing a loss in performance and gas mileage. Welding is the ONLY way to avoid this

    and id prefer the 2525xl

These are the exact responses I expected haha.

I had a flowmaster 40 and my old tacoma and it was crap.

The 2525xl is getting welded in a few weeks.

    Thanks all for your thoughts
