I keep getting brighted!!!

So I have my low beams on but it seems like every other car, especially truckers, bright me like they think I have my brights on. I give them a flash back to show them I am not that a-hole but it keeps happening.

My truck is in practically new condition with low miles so I doubt the head lights have ever been messed with. Anybody else have this happen? Suggestions?

 

What kind of aftermarket light bulbs you got? If you have any?

 

The Tacoma is just higher than a lot of cars so our lights shine right into the their eyes and most car lights are lower. That's my guess. I used to get it all the time in my old Ranger.

 

Are you carrying added weight in the bed? Your rear springs may be sagging a bit, in essence, aiming the nose of your truck up a little.

As mentioned, extra bright aftermarket headlight bulbs could be a contributing factor as well.

 

I'm sure they are not aftermarket lights. I bought the truck in Feb. with 21,000 original miles. It's pretty much bone stock (which is cool with me)...

 

Just adjust them down slightly

 

Is the truck lifted? mine is and I haven't messed with the head light or do I get hit with brights from other drivers.

yea mine need to be adjusted too but i have really bright headlights people really hate it when i flash them back. I know im a real A Hole

 

I was trying to adjust mine too in my 07 tacoma. Since i lifted my truck i've had a few angry people flash their light at me. Obviously i flash mine so they know i'm not being an A/H. But hey, i have a BIG question. Are the adjusters the ones covered with the black plastic protectors behind the head lamps? because i removed the little plastic things and turned the screw and the light didnt move at all. What did i do wrong. I need some help guys.

 

Not sure if many of us can help you out there. This is the 1st gen forum. I've never worked on a 2nd gen and I would bet thats the case for a lot of other people in here.
Just post it in the 2nd gen forum...those guys are just as helpful as we are...but for your truck!

 

There are 2 adjustments in the 2nd gens, the adjustment screw on top (with the black plastic cover), adjusts the lights side to side. There's another one further down, toward the outside of the truck that adjusts them up and down.
I know this is a 1st Gen forum, just stumbled onto the post and figured I'd help out...

 

then they probably need adjusting or you're carrying a load in the back.

 

ALRITE GUYS. Thanks. Yeah, i guess that's what happened. i was moving the one on top i didnt even noticed the botom ones, haha. I was waiting to see my light pattern move down and all i did is i moved them to the sides without knowing what i was doing. haha. thanks again guys.
