I unfortunately live in an area where there is plentiful abundance of retired folks - and the medical community is feasting on them. Makes our rates go up to keep the insurance companies well sheltered.

Gizmo got another mole today. She played with it like a squeeky toy until it died.

Good to hear. Hope they stay that way. Have a good time.

Things are good down here. Yes, finger is fine - it was a weird burn, but all cleared up.

Good morning. A little too wet for yard work yesterday but today will see the start of the yard restoration where the two trees once were. On another note, I pulled the street throwaway grill find into the garage for restoration. Hoping the restoration is around $100. I will bring a side burner gas grill into the grill collection.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/rainmakers. I took the Caterham over to a Cars&Coffee at Steel Stacks in Bethlehem; it's an event venue on the site of the old Bethlehem Steel Works, and the blast furnaces are still standing along with some other stuff. Pretty neat backdrop. Crazy thing was, when I pulled in a guy pointed to me and said, "go that way" instead of the way all of the other cars were going. I ended up parking in the "featured" section among the Italian exotics and radical street rods! I have pictures but haven't sorted them yet. Soon I promise.

In the meantime, my wife is getting ready for cataract surgery and is researching the extra cost lenses they offer. I had mine done a couple of years ago but due to glaucoma I didn't qualify for anything but the standard lenses. I'd really like to hear from folks who ponied up the extra bucks for the fancier lenses. Was it worth it? Any problems or issues?

To ask for a list of you "maintenance medication", wouldn't it be client's medical record, a personal privacy? Moreover, to base their price on one's medical history it sounds like there's health discrimination in health care system? :notsure:

Glad it healed up Sue, some times burns can get infected and cause more issues. Does Gizmo dig up the moles? Must make a mess of the lawn if he does . Have a good day.

Sure will Mark. Having Breakfast with Rob and his Chief.

I had cataract surgery 3 years ago Dave. The left eye was the standard lens but the doctor talked me into ( even though the final decision was mine) a special lens for my astigmatism(sp.). I wish I had done research on the lens they put in before I had it done. It didn't rate very well and I became another negative statistic for the lens. My vision was blurry when looking slightly down or to the right. After discussing the issue with the doctor she said they could take the lens out and put the standard lens in but I would have to pay for it out of pocket. Now 3 years later, it seems to be better but I don't know if I have learned to live with it or if it got better . The only advice I can give is find out the lens manufacturer and lens number and do research on them to see what issues if any they have. Hope it helps with the wifes decision.:fingerscrossed:

@wdb I've had friends and family That have had very good results and some without. Ken is right do your research also keep in mind everyone is different no 2 people are the same. One person can have great results with a lense the other may not. My wife got standard lenses when she had hers done. But she was in her middle 50's and corrective lenses were not available for people with astigmatism. She had occasional floaters before and after were a little worse. She has been told there is a clinic in Minneapolis that can fix by playing asteroids with a Lazer one opthalmologist said they were the only one they would trust in our region.

I had cataract surgery and they put the wrong lens in my dominant eye... and then tried to convince me that I should be happy about it.

There are after effects they don't mention, or at least adequately describe.

I have floaters that have driven me crazy for years. My eye doc says there is no reliable fix yet. I'll have to ask him about the "asteroids" treatment and get his take on it. It sounds like they make a few large floaters into a lot of little ones, which might be helpful in some cases.
