Yeah I don't think he liked having his picture taken, followed us at a lumbering pace for about half a block. Probably just making sure we were leaving

Hey, I sold my 970 for what I bought it for during the covid shortage, it held its own I guess. That's a shit load of RAM. What's idle power consumption like on that thing?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Nothing wrong with the ol 980... It satisfies my urges for my graphic work and makes it so that I can play cities skylines at lunch :p I have to imagine power consumption is poor but not the worst. It still has full stepping support and supports most of the personal computer ACPI power modes too because it is one of the free standing "workstation" style servers.... supposedly crazy CAD people and video editing gurus use these as a single user too. It's redundant 700w PSUs but only redundant, I haven't ever plugged in one of them and it only warns me that theres no fallback not that it's power crippled.

It was retired because we are 1:1 on chromebooks now and the few labs we have are able to be filled with individual machines. But this thing used to host our SIS, intranet pages for employee management, and in a few other VMs it had some HVAC management stuff and one of the active directory components and a fallback DHCP server.

    So starfield seems pretty legit

Weird graphics performance though... It only performed well on default settings. Even though they were essentially Medium, if I tweaked anything and went back to defaults manually it would still have framerate loss

Lol holy shit I haven't used Fraps in over a decade

In-game I bet you can find a way but since you're running an nvidia card, just click alt+z, click performance, and you can click to scroll in that miniature window to see your FPS

Haha was honestly kinda shocked it still worked. MSI afterburner is supposed to have an overlay too... They might all be negating each other

MSI afterburner is great for tuning fan curves, regardless of whoever made the gpu but unless you're changing anything and saving a new profile it'll run stock

Should check CPU-Z to confirm, and watch your temps for throttling/thermal limiting via HW Monitor
