A very good friend of ours came down from New York with his wife. Tonight should be a good night to sit around and enjoy.

Jim Beam is my daily driver. Woodford Reserve for special occasions.

Brugal 1888 rum when we're out on the boat. It's maritime law you drink rum offshore.

My local place just got some of the Full Proof

thought about buying it but never had anything over 101 so I’m not sure if I can handle it lol

 

It doesn’t drink too hot, I’ve definitely had worse at lower proofs. Toss an ice cube in with it, it’s a good 25 dollar range bourbon

I guess for $25 it’s worth a shot. I’ll pick one up next week or so

For a NAS tweaked mashbill? Not for me.

 

Did a side by side with the JD B-Rye and Turkey Rye. The JD has a bite the whole way through and Turkey is just smooth throughout. Turkey wins my pallet, but I’m still drinking the JD for the night.

After adding it to ice it killed the bite somewhat. Still prefer the Turkey.

 

Also, idk who else likes to pay attention to this, but the THWOON from the Turkey cork sounds better… just FYI

 

Royal Salute 51. Saw this at my local Costco awhile back. Talk about feeling like a ‘window shopper’. Still saving my money though...

 

WT101s both bourbon and rye are my benchmarks for the $25 point.

There is absolutely nothing out there that surpasses the quality they bring for that amount of money.

 

Just outside my price range….

 

Has anyone tried this bottle yet? Saw it today and was unsure if it was worth the $49 commitment. Cheers

 

I’m starting to understand that more now days. I’ve only really started trying to sit and enjoy different whiskeys or bourbons in the last couple years. Used to just buy the cheap shit for a night of fun. Which coincidentally WT101 was always in that category. Now I’m starting to wonder about scotch, but never had the opportunity to try it.

 

Anyone making freezer door old fashioneds?
I used Benchmark Top Floor for a go two weeks ago. I'm already out, things are addicting.
