:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Heading back to the hot for the last week of the summer. Had a nice lunch with the son, and finally saw his nice apartment. View off the balcony that is almost 100% mighty Oaks.

Nothing but a replacement light switch (but it's in a group that's a pain to repair), Garmin power wire in the truck (did you know that they have specific power adapters for the traffic signal? I do now). Maybe get to taking the sunroom foam back off, now that it's both "cooler" and the sun has moved more North. Be time to start stripping the greenhouse soon as well - might as well, nothing grew this year.

I have floaters, too. And cataracts. That is what I am told. Not too bad yet.
I have to refocus alot to read a book, but good lighting helps.

Love it. Your Cat is every bit an exotic, proper parking indeed. That is a great collection, with a nice back drop too! I think the Mopar is a tribute, but I don't know either - just too many Hemmings articles about the models I never even heard of!!

I turned 62 just 10 days ago, so I guess I qualify for this thread.

My mom turned 97 yesterday. She still lives in the house I grew up in, still drives.

At quick glance the T/A Challenger looks good. 5th digit in the VIN is a giveaway. Antenna location is correct for a T/A. All other Challengers had the radio antenna on the front fender. The glass hood on the T/A caused interference so antenna moved to the rear quarter panel.

If I lose much more I'll be joining you Murray . About a few dozen away from a comb over:facepalm:

A lot of good information Dave. Reading about the lens for astigmatism they said a procedure could be done during or after called Limbal Relaxing incisions. My doctor told me if I wasn't satisfied I could get lasik which would be out of pocket expense. Needles to say I no longer go to her. Father is very reputable, her maybe not so. If you can find the name of the lens manufacturer and go to their site it should give you more information on the lens. Thanks for posting the site for the explanation on different lens.

Been there, done that and it is still Dad can I borrow $400 my car broke (daughter works but 3 kids drain the bank dry so it's the Bank of Dad), Dad can you pick up, Dad will you make. It's a good thing I love the Grand Kids :D:thumbsup:.

Thanks for posting the pictures Dave. Bethlehem isn't that far from me. The Corvair was a double take seeing the engine in the trunk :goingcrazy:. Great Pictures.

    Welcome to the porch edit.jpg

Welcome Roger. Make yourself at home and the rest of the folks will be along. God Bless your Mom, 97 years young .
    Enjoy the gang here.

There is treatment for floaters. (I don’t have them but know about them). There are both surgical and laser procedures to treat them. Have your ophthalmologist refer you to a retina specialist. Get the facts from the experts. Retinal specialists are amazing physicians, and they are the ones who can treat floaters.

Good morning, The smell of smoked teriyaki pepper jerky is in the neighborhood. Tomorrow, I'll be heading to the Madison river to throw #9 rapalas at the big browns and rainbows. This time of year the fish attack the rapalas not to eat them but to protect their territory. They attack hard. I've been doing this for 25+ years. I first started bringing both fly and spincasting equipment but found that spincasting is much more successful in September and October. I don't even bring fly fishing stuff anymore. I'll go back to fly fishing just before the ice comes on at Strawberry Reservoir. Have a great day everyone.

Dave that corvair is one of the nicest I've seen. It was a favorite model of mine.

    Wild looking Corvair.

Saw one several years ago with a mid engine 350 in it.
The owner said besides the unbearable heat, the Holley blowing a power valve couple feet in back of his head was an eye opener.

I saw a mid-engine Corvair once too. Apparently putting a V8 ahead of the axle solves all the issues with corning...

    Afternoon all:

Just got done mowing, pretty well caught up on yard work for now!

Welcome Roger, good group on here with varied interests so post away, and yup, pics. are always welcome.

Sounds like a fun time on the Madison River Bryan, definitely something I would enjoy.

Looking at the "steel stacks" brings back memories Dave, I worked at that blast furnace for a short period while in the labor pool, I think I've been past there once since the plant closed in 1997, never been to the casino or the cars and coffee.

:notsure: Well; 50/50 ain't so bad, right?
Got the switch installed in 20 minutes (removing an unused 3Way simplified that), and spent 50 minutes programming into the system! But it works.

    Went to switch the Garmin power cords, but thought I would check things out first. Yes, my 65 cord wasn't providing traffic. Let's plug the one I got with the 52 in, spread it out, and check;

    20230919_132253.jpg

Hmmmm.... Better check out what I ordered! And I did NOT order one with Traffic, like I thought. So, this goes back, and another 55 will take it's place.

In keeping with the half-a$$ spirit, I only took off half the insulation panels in the sunroom, and decided to watch how the temp went!

What is the model number of your garmin? I might have a traffic receiver from my old one.

Thanks, but it's current model is Garmin Drive 51 LT IN THE BOX! I have a 55 on the way, and am hoping it works as well as the rest of the 50 series. Our 50 is going on 5 years old, was reconditioned when bought. I have been through 3 65 models this year, that all suffer power supply/reboot issues.

    APPRECIATE IT!

I’m glad you mentioned the reboot issue. I own 2 driveluxe 51s. Both will go into multiple reboot modes about once a week. I thought it was something I was doing. I’ve lived with it just fine.
